This Building Better Opportunities programme will not only provide a range of activities to build people’s confidence and aspirations, but also measures to help remove barriers to employment in areas such as health, finance and digital. Organisations will be expected to work in partnership to deliver this programme. The Big Lottery Fund will match the European funding, thus effectively doubling the impact and scope of projects, and providing a more straightforward route to European funding for the voluntary and community sector. Building Better Opportunities Workshop Will provide voluntary and community sector organisations with a better 3 understanding of what it means to be part of an ESF funded programme. Each walk has been mapped out using every station between Grange and Millom. The walks are about 5 miles, taking up to 3 hours and can be over rough ground, occasionally very wet underfoot. Most walks end in the vicinity of an agreeable place to eat and drink. New walkers will be made very welcome. Thursday 11 June Askam-Dunnerholme-Kirkby-in-Furness Station. This year it returns to its ladies-only format. The walk is a fantastic fun event - inspired by remembering loved ones - to raise essential funds for our Hospice. The eight-mile sponsored walk will be led by the Queen’s Guide to the Sands, Cedric Robinson, in the afternoon and will take in spectacular views of well-known sites from the unusual perspective of the Sands, such as Humphrey Head and Arnside Knott. Applicants will be required to attach a signed and dated governing document or set of operating rules with their application form. If you are not currently constituted then Cumbria CVS can assist you with this simple process.
