Course description:
These programmes are for those who are the designated person (or deputy) for child protection and
dealing with safeguarding issues within in early years settings or pre-school.
Learning outcomes:





To understand the role and responsibilities of the designated/lead person
To understand the legislative and good practice requirements for safeguarding children
To understand what safeguarding arrangements should be in place to keep children safe
To understand what to do if a safeguarding concern is raised and how you can support staff to
recognize these
To have the opportunity to reflect on current practice and make changes to better safeguard children
and young people
