Roosevelt will be offering students in grades 4-6 an opportunity to hone their problem solving,
logical thinking and graphics art skills in a new TECHNOLOGY CLASS. Volunteers are needed
to help teach this before-school class. No art, programming or computer expertise necessary;
training will be provided. This is a great opportunity for students! Please contact Talia Spencer

Dear Roosevelt Families,
This will be a short but sweet letter to remind you of Kindergarten Registration held tonight from
3:30 to 5:30. Make sure to tell friends around your neighborhood about this event, and I am sure I will see
some of you tonight.
Spring Fling is on Friday. If you haven't experienced this event, you really should try to
attend. It is a night where all of us can celebrate the art of our children, as well as spend time getting to
know new families. The funds donated this evening directly impact everything we do at Roosevelt, from
the art program, library program, music program, Wacky Wednesdays, athletic programs, recess games,
classroom instruction, technology and so much more. Truly, your kids receive the education and
opportunities at Roosevelt because of the generous giving during this event. Plus, the view from the
Stueckle Center is breathtaking, the food delightful and laughter plentiful. I hope to see you there. A
SPECIAL THANKS to all of the people who coordinate this event. It is a huge undertaking, so thank
you!
A couple of things that are taking place around Roosevelt:
Noon Walking Club -- we need parent volunteers
Wednesdays--TGA golf will be starting soon -- ask about our lunch yesterday
Thursday, March 19--PTA at 7:00
Friday, March 20--Early Release
Thank you again for a great week! I will see you all at Spring Fling!

Dear Parents,
Today is the last day to purchase tickets for Spring Fling at $35 each! Ticket prices increase to $40
on the day of the event and at the door. Don’t miss out on this fun annual event that provides the
majority of funding for the PTA budget. Did you know that the Roosevelt PTA was able to fund the
following items due to your generosity at Spring Fling?
•
•
•
•
•
•
Lego LearntoLearn educational sets ($1,500) for the Kindergarten and 1st grade
Number Corner ($1,650), a daily math skill-building program, for the 1st grade
6 Chromebooks ($1,500) for the 2nd grade
Over $5,000 to the Library to purchase books, Chromebooks for student research, and programs
such as the geography bee, trivia contests, etc.
18 HP laptop computers ($6,210) for teachers and specialists
Over $13,600 contributed directly to teacher and specialist Foundation accounts to spend on
their classrooms
If you are unable to attend Spring Fling, you can still contribute to this great fundraiser. New
this year, proxy bids will be available for the live and silent auctions. You can also donate to the FundA-Need campaign, which purchases items (specifically requested by teachers) for your child’s
classroom next year. Please contact Amy Salber at amysalber@yahoo.com for more information.
Last year the Spring Fling FUND-A-NEED program enabled the Roosevelt PTA to purchase:
•
•
•
•
10 - iPad mini tablets for grades K-3
4 - HP laptops for the 4th grade
24 - Chromebooks for the 5th and 6th grades
80 new paperback books for the 6th grade classrooms
Class art projects are displayed in the front hallway and they look great! Come check them out if
you haven’t already.
The next PTA meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 19 at 7:00 p.m. in the library. Jenny
Stewart will be the teacher representative. Hope to see you there!
Thanks,
Stacey Stewart
