10th Annual Risk Management Conference
You are invited to attend the 10th Annual Risk Management Conference, entitled ‘Risk – the New
Reality’, at the Conference Centre of Nordic Hotel Forum in Tallinn on 8 May 2015.
The conference is designed to raise awareness of the role of risk management and to promote its
importance in Estonian business and society. It will provide participants with an overview of the practical
and theoretical ways that risks can be reduced, prevented and managed. We will describe the complexity
of risk management in our economic and legal space and draw on international competence in the field.
The conference, being held for the tenth time, has become an annual tradition, bringing together
representatives of the public and private sectors to discuss topical issues in risk management.
What makes this year’s conference even more special is the fact that we will be revealing the winner of the
title of Risk Manager of the Year 2015. With this award the organisers of the conference look to recognise an
individual or organisation that has achieved impressive results in the field of risk management and thanks
to whom life is safer and more secure for everyone.
Every spring for the last 10 years we have brought together in Tallinn people from the public and private
sectors who are involved in risk management within their organisations. Over the years we have done our
best to offer a rich and varied programme. The organisers of the conference are grateful to everyone who
has attended our events – it is particularly gratifying to know that you have obtained practical guidance on
how to be even more successful in your everyday work. We are sure that this year’s conference will prove
just as interesting to you all. Going under the title of ‘Risk – the New Reality’, it will showcase a range of
important issues that we should all be taking very seriously.
We will be discussing the dangers that exist in cyberspace; focussing on the current situation in world
security; talking in depth about aviation and flight safety; analysing what is going on in the world of finance
and the economy and debating potential risk scenarios; and also talking about energy security and security
of supply. For the first time in our programme we will also be looking at personnel policy in a globally
expanding company and the risks that accompany it, and one of the most important issues we will be
examining is connected to the media and the risks it involves. The event will end with a discussion panel,
where senior managers will talk about changing risks in a changing world. To round out the day we will
offering everyone a slice of our anniversary cake and the chance to share the knowledge they gained and
the ideas they formed during the conference.
Anyone who deals with risk management on an everyday basis as part of their work and who wishes to
contribute to a safer society is welcome to attend the conference.
