Monday, June 8, 7pm - 8:30pm - Voices In Praise is holding Bring A Friend night for
all students who are currently in Grades 5-11. We hope this preview of VIP will help
singers and their families plan for fall. Come see what VIP is all about!
Thank You from Voices In Praise
Thank you to everyone who came out to support our Pops Concert last week! We had
so much fun performing and it was wonderful to have all of you in the audience. With
your help, we raised more than $5,000 to support the VIP ministry. Most of those
funds will be allocated to Choir Tour 2016 --stay tuned to find out where we are
headed next. Thanks again for your support!
Crafters "n" Friends will meet June 10th at 10:00 am. We'll
make a little flower, a card and plan for July through
January. Come with ideas, pictures, samples or just come.
Hope to see you! Contact if you have questions: Vera Pflum,
301-261-9469.
Come out to cheer on Voices In Praise as they sing the National Anthem at the
Washington Nationals game vs. the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday, June 20th

trip, and the choir would love to see you at the game. Contact Tina Wilkerson, 410257-6396, rtwilk92@yahoo.com or Donna Griffin, 301-873-7162 or

Summer Breakfast Club Ministry * June 29 – August 14, 2015
The Breakfast Club is a summer program providing a free bagged breakfast to children in areas
of South County and is a ministry of four churches in our community, Mt. Zion UMC, Our
Lady of Perpetual Help, Friendship UMC, and St. James Episcopal Church. This year in
addition to bagged breakfast meals, on Fridays we will also be giving a weekend bag of extra
food to families. Our desire is to make sure the families have sufficient food to carry them through the weekend.
Volunteers are needed to pack bags during weekday mornings or evenings, deliver the bags. Monetary
donations are also needed and appreciated. You can make a check payable to Mt. Zion UMC with a notation to
the Breakfast Club Ministry. For more information contact Ann Herche at 410-867-7817 or the Mt. Zion
church office 410-867-4035.
Reading Camp South County will be held at St. James’ Parish July 27-31!
The camp is a week-long, tuition-free, 8:30-4:00 pm summer program
for children currently in grades 2-4 who need a “boost” to help them
improve their reading skills. Camp includes reading instruction and fun
activities such as swimming, arts & crafts, and games. Breakfast, lunch and snacks will be
served daily. Volunteers are needed to provide the reading instruction as well as other adult
and youth volunteers to assist with the afternoon activities. Questions? Email
southcounty.md.readingcamp@gmail.com or call Paula Davis at 301-855-5045.
