Talent Development Volunteer Mechanic

Talent Development Volunteer Mechanic
Delivery of Wheelchair Mechanic Services to GB Talent Development Squad
Following the establishment of the GBWR Talent Development Squad in 2014, and with the support of
funding from Sport England, we are about to embark on a two-year Talent Development programme,
preparing talented athletes towards selection into the GB Elite Squad for Rio - 2016, Tokyo – 2020 and
beyond.
GBWR is now looking for interested persons who have a keen interest in expanding their experience as a
wheelchair mechanic and would like to gain valuable experience both within the elite sports environment,
and potential Paralympic athletes.
This position is a volunteer position but will be mentored and professionally supported by the GBWR Lead
Mechanic, and receive reasonable travel expenses as per the GBWR expenses policy.
Experience of bike or wheelchair maintenance is desirable, or a keen interest in mechanical engineering.
An understanding of the elite sports environment is a definite advantage, and although previous
experience of working in sport and/or with disabled athletes is desirable, it is not essential. Therefore if
you do not have this experience please do not be discouraged from applying.
Please send a covering letter outlining your experience and why you are interested in the position, along
with a current CV
