The Music Ministry wishes to congratulate the
members of our Junior Choir who are receiving
their First Holy Communion this weekend and
next. Our congratulations to Matthew McClain,
Sean McClain, and Mackinzie Sabol. We are
very proud of you!
The music for our liturgies this weekend will
share some of the same hymns used at the Communion ceremonies to show our love and support
of our parish children and to help them remember
their special day. As we sing together as a parish
community, let us pray that this wonderful sacrament will bring all of our first communicants closer
to our Lord!
Congratulations to all and we welcome you to
the table of the Lord!

“‘It is not right for us to neglect the word of
God to serve at table. Brothers, select from
among you seven reputable men, filled with
the Spirit and wisdom, whom we shall appoint
to this task, whereas we shall devote ourselves to prayer and the ministry of the
word’… They presented these men to the
apostles who prayed and laid hands on them.
The word of God continued to spread,”… “I am
the way and the truth and the life.”
FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER
First Reading: Acts 6:1‑7
During the early growth of the Church, the
apostles realized that they needed more disciples
in order to carry out effectively the ministry of the
Church. The community selected seven men, one
of whom was Stephen.
THE ROSARY
The Rosary is the book of the blind,
the manual of the poor,
the breviary of the traveler,
the companion of the aged,
the comfort of the sick,
and the prayer of every Christian who loves Mary.
Remember, more beautiful than all prayers which
saintly ones have written—is the one which the
church has put upon our lips…
“Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us
sinners now and at the hour of our death..
Amen.
Second Reading: 1 Peter 2:4‑9
Citing many uses of the word “stone” in the
sayings of Jesus and in the Old Testament, Peter
urges the Christians to be “living stones...an
edifice of spirit.”
Gospel: John 14:1‑12
In this beautiful passage from the words of Jesus
at the Last Supper, Jesus promises that he is
preparing a place for the apostles. He tells them,
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one
comes to the Father but through me.” When Philip
asks Jesus to show them the Father, Jesus
answers, “Whoever has seen me has seen the
Father.”
