Teach For Pakistan Job Description Director, Fundraising Position Title: Function: Start Date: Director, Fundraising Fundraising July, 2015 Reporting To: Location: Chief Executive Officer Karachi Position Summary: The Director, Fundraising will lead Teach For Pakistan’s fundraising efforts. The Director will be responsible for the planning as well as execution of a fundraising map, this includes setting targets, building and managing donor pipelines, and developing customized pitches and strategies. The Director will lead meeting with senior executives, independently cultivate senior relationships and participate in strategizing, managing and executing external and donor relations for Teach For Pakistan in order to create an influencing environment for Fellows and Alumni. The Director Fundraising role is best suited for someone who is driven by goal orientation, has a growth mind-set; strong in relationship building and deeply passionate about creating educational equity. About Teach For Pakistan: Teach For Pakistan is a leadership development Fellowship for outstanding graduates and young professionals who commit two years to social change, transforming academic outcomes and life paths of students in under-resourced schools. Upon completing their two-year commitment, Fellows graduate to become Alumni, skilled and aware leaders of educational equity. In 2011, Teach For Pakistan inducted its first cohort of 17 Fellows placing them in Karachi’s poorest classrooms. In 2014, Teach For Pakistan has 49 Alumni who have completed the Fellowship, and 65 Fellows in classrooms across Karachi and Lahore. Teach For Pakistan is an initiative of the Aman Foundation and a partner of the international Teach For All network. Responsibilities: Strategize and Execute Fundraising Map and Stewardship Strategies Analyze historical and market data to set ambitious yet feasible revenue, conversion, donor quantity and retention goals for the next year Set interim benchmarks and monitor progress by donor segments Strategically build and manage donor portfolios by mapping path to goal and design and implement engagement plans by each segment Develop and execute pitches, strategies and tactical plans to achieve goals for different donor segments Regularly assess progress to goals, identifying what is driving and impeding progress, developing solutions to address gaps, and adjusting course as necessary Leverage the CEO and City Manager in cultivating, soliciting and stewarding donors through external meetings, events and correspondence and ensuring the team prepares/supports them to execute Support the CEO in advisory board management and correspond with advisory board members as needed Cultivate Teach For Pakistan Fundraising Engagements Own the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of a portfolio of donors identified in the fundraising strategy through external meetings, events, and correspondence. Deploy CEO/City Manager as required. Create and execute the strategic and operating plans, ensuring that the organization maximizes opportunities, meets its goals, and significantly grows funding while building long-term sustainability. 1 Independently conduct excellent and professional donor interactions and communications (i.e., meetings, events, newsletters, grants) Develops and maintains strong operations (i.e., donor tracking systems, data management, meeting preparations and download systems, gift processing) Develop external communication products for the organization to ensure growth in outreach and funding relationships Grant Solicitation and Management Scope and write grant proposals, grant budgets, and reports to support operations Research and create a strategy for connecting with key partners and potential grants Additional Responsibilities: Support Recruitment & Selection cycles as a full time selector Actively participate and lead at the Teach For Pakistan’s Summer Institute as a full-time staff member.
