Character Counts at NHP!
March is National Disability Awareness Month!
Each week, students will learn about a different disability (blind, deaf, physical), and they will
participate in special activities to simulate what it might be like to have a disability.
Students will take a pledge to treat all people with respect and kindness, and they will have an
opportunity to ask questions throughout the month about disabilities!
Congratulations to the following students who were nominated for the Caring Award in February!
These students received a special certificate and FREE Domino's Pizza! BIG thanks to Domino's for

eLearning Information
Top 10
Things to Know about eLearning Day at NHP
1. NHP teachers will provide their students the plan for their elearning day via email by 9:00 AM the day of closing.
2. Once we return to school students will have 5 school days in which to make up the missing work.
3. Students will be able to come to school one hour before school starts only during the 5 days to make up for the elearning day
assignments if necessary.
4. Parents/guardian/adult must escort the student into the building to sign the student in at the office. Doors will be open to students to go to the office to sign in and then report to the computer lab starting at 8:00 am. Students will then report to the computer
lab and a teacher will be available in the lab to help students, supervise the lab, and clarify any questions about the assignments.
5. We will not have after school hours for students to use the lab.
6. Staff members will be available to assist students during the open computer lab time.
7. There will be a student sign-in sheet to document the date students attend a day.
8. Teachers will be communicating with parents and students who have not completed the assignments and assist parents in using
Compass Odyssey. Parents need to be aware of what their child needs to complete and the date in which it needs to be completed by
for their elearning day.
9. All students will be required to complete 20 minutes of Math and 20 minutes of Reading on Compass Odyssey unless otherwise
indicated by their classroom teacher. Additional assignments may be given by support teachers. Music, Art and PE activities will be
given if the student was scheduled to have the special teacher on the elearning day. Your classroom teacher will indicate via email
which special area assignment to complete.
10. Students who do not participate in the the elearning assignments will be marked absent from school for that elearning day.
