Manitoba Water Polo Provincial Team 2015 Girls Summer Program (May-July 2015) Open to all Manitoba Girls born in 1998-2001 Take your game to the next level by participating in the Summer Provincial Team program. This program is geared towards female Water Polo players born in 1998-2001. No prior Provincial Team experience is required to participate but athletes should have at least one full year of club Water Polo experience. The girls will train in Winnipeg from May - July 15 and then compete in the Women's Youth Cup from July 18-26 in Montreal. We usually depart 1-2 days prior to the event to get some extra practice in at the competition pool. Training in May will be comprised of 1-2 practices/week (athletes should still be training with their club at this time). For June and July training will increase to 4-6x/week. The Women's Youth Cup is one of the premier girls Water Polo events in Canada where the best youth age athletes in Canada come to compete with their Provincial Teams. The event is run like a typical international event with the girls having a morning practice plus a game in the evening on most of the days, in addition all the games are held outside at the beautiful Parc Jean Drapeau (PJD) Aquatic Centre. This event is also used by National Team coaches for talent identification and development. Many future National Team athletes are selected directly from this event. 2015 Summer Program Staff • head coach TBA • assistant coach TBA • event chaperon TBA Important Dates • Sat, March 14 from 9-10am - Parent/Athlete Info Meeting @ Sport for Life (145 Pacific Ave, Winnipeg) • March 31 2015 - RSVP your interest to participate in this program plus a non-refundable down-payment of $100.
