With Warmest Regards, The Sullins Family A Christian Approach to Charitable Estate Planning Estate planning offers McDonough Presbyterian Church Members the opportunity to make an enduring statement of faith. This act of stewardship can leave an indelible mark on our Church or a mission program of your choice. You may be surprised that even a small asset can be turned into a gift which will support your choices in perpetuity. You may even identify assets previously not considered that could be used to make a generous gift. In future newletters we will concentrate on some of the charitable giving opportunities available through estate planning. Equipped with this information, you can more fully evalute and discuss estate planning options with your financial and legal advisors. Call the Church office and ask to speak to a member of the Church Legacy Committee (LOGO) and arrangements will be made for that contact or you may simply pick up a MPC Legacy brochure in the Church office or in the sanctuary narthex. As MPC begins our journey to implement the Stephen Ministry program in the congregation, we ask that you be in prayer for these faithful servants who feel called to serve in this way: Mike and Rita Wieland, Debbie Stellings, Pat Robinson, Patrick Healy, Tim Engelbracht, and Beth Williams. In addition to, Jo Mercer who is already a trained Stephen Leader is helping to guide us as we begin this ministry and Susy Booker is also lending support and prayer for this ministry. In June, a few members of this group will be traveling to be trained Stephen Leaders who will then come back and train the Stephen Ministers for MPC. This is a tremendous calling which will not replace pastoral calls and care but will enhance our ministry together. There are approximately 580 members of MPC and this ministry will provide opportunities to offer intentional, confidential one on one care to persons who are experiencing a variety of challenges in life. This ministry has already been blessed with a $5000.00 gift to help cover training and materials costs as we begin. Please be in prayer for this dedicated group and if you are interested in learning more about this program please contact Rachael Knoll.
