The College and Career Ready (C2) Pipeline
program is funded through a Michigan Department of Education 21st CCLC grant and
incorporates science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) in a hands-on learning environment that emphasizes health
careers and enhances students’ secondary

The WSU C2 Pipeline Warriors College Experience is inclusive of all meals, housing and
program activities. Students attending a C2
Pipeline School and who are chosen will receive full scholarships. Additional Scholarships are available on a first come basis.

Schedule
During the 11 day experience, participants
will step into the shoes of a new college
student, including living and eating in the
dorms. A typical morning will include
general “College 101” sessions, including
topics such as time & stress management,
study skills, and conflict resolution. These
skills can easily be applied during the senior
year of high school.

Warriors College Experience is for
you.
Requirements:

 Be ready for a Challenge!
After lunch, participants will attend classes
in a specialty focus area taught by Wayne
State faculty and staff. Professors from the
areas of Nursing, Medicine, Social Work,
Engineering and Pharmacy & Health
Sciences have modified college level
course’s to include hands on, interactive
college learning experiences.
One of the highlights of the camp is student
participation on an interprofessional
education (IPE) team. An IPE team will be
made up of one student from each specialty
area. Each team will be challenged with the
task of addressing the health care disparity
of diabetes by developing a research poster
and project. Teams will compete at the end
of the camp for scholarship money to Wayne
State University. The top three teams will
be recognized at the Presentation Showcase
& Gala on Thursday evening.
Throughout the week, special events and
social activities are built into the schedule.
Students will get a sense of what Wayne
State University in Detroit’s Midtown area is
really like.
Planned activities include open mic
nights, campus scavenger hunts, the
Climbing Wall and Team Initiative
Course (located at the Mort Harris Rec
Center). Weekend activities consist of a
community service project, and on and
off campus activities.
In the morning of Thursday, August 6th,
students will have the opportunity to
speak with Admissions, apply to WSU
and receive an on site decision.
On Thursday evening, the IPE teams
will present their research poster and
project to a panel of judges. Posters and
Projects will be on display at the
Showcase Gala to be held at the Eugene
Applebaum College Pharmacy and
Health. In addition to all participants
being recognized, the winning top three
teams will be announced.
**Due to the nature of this program, students WILL NOT be
permitted to check out to leave program. Parents/family are
permitted to visit during designated times only!! More information
will be provided at the orientation.

Students attending will be staying in the
Towers Residential Suites on Wayne
States Campus. More information about

included.
