EASTER SUNDAY OF THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD
APRIL 5, 2015
Most Precious Blood
School News
Dear Parishioners:
Happy Easter! Today we celebrate that our Lord
Jesus Christ, after being in the tomb on Friday,
Saturday and into Sunday morning, physically rose
from the dead, that is—was alive again, and lives still.
This is the day we have prepared for throughout Lent
and which we celebrate during the Easter Season, but
also every Sunday.
And, central to the message of Easter is hope, hope
for eternal life, and the hope that Christ brings us every
day. The symbol of hope is the anchor, which is fitting
in that Christ is our anchor, our lives change but Christ
is always the same, always there for us. Even
celebrating Easter is part of the continuity that Christ
brings to our lives.
The celebration of Easter happens at church when
we come together as a community. This year is the
first Easter with the new altar and floor; which helps to
add to the beauty and solemnity of the celebration of
the Mass. Helping us to celebrate our faith are the
many symbols at Mass which are part of our Catholic
heritage. That is why during the Easter Season the
statue of the Resurrected Christ is placed above the
tabernacle until Pentecost when the Crucifix is
returned, to remind us that Christ is risen!
Have a Blessed and Enjoyable Easter,
Fr. Fallon
