The National Hispanic Corporate Council proudly presents the 2015 NHCC
Spring Summit: Next Generation Hispanic Workforce: Acquire,
Develop, and Retain brought to you by Wal-Mart & Tyson Foods. The
summit will bring together subject matter experts in the areas of talent
development and employee resource groups with the objective of
identifying key opportunities and challenges for a stronger cooperation
between these highly interlinked fields.
Gathering executives and guests from NHCC-member companies, in
northwest Arkansas, the summit will address a wide range of topics,
including corporate ERG models and best practices, talent development
strategies in corporate America, innovations in the executive development
space, and the role of diversity and inclusion strategies as a vehicle for
sustainable diverse talent development.

Professional Development Initiatives
Description: Participants will learn effective methods to attract entry-level
talent directly from Fortune 1000 practitioners. This session will seek to answer
the following questions: What are companies doing to source and hire diverse
talent in unique ways? Are you using employee resource groups or any other
development methods? How do you embed professional development programs
into your marketing strategy?

ERG Track: Turning Latino ERGs into a Talent Engine and a Catalyst for
Economic Growth
Description: Participants will gain insights on how Latino ERGs are thriving in
corporate America. Membership is on the rise, they are making a larger
business impact, and companies are investing more. However, with increased
visibility comes increased responsibility. In this session, Dr. Rodriguez will
share what next generation Latino ERGs are doing to enhance their members’
visibility, capability and ultimately, their promotability. You’ll learn what steps
are necessary to ensure Latino ERGs serve as a talent engine to groom top
Latino talent. Also, discussed will be strategies that help to avoid Latino ERGs
becoming an “under-utilized asset” when it comes to business goals and
initiatives targeting the Hispanic market. Attendees will also learn about 4C
ERG Framework, created by Dr. Rodriguez, which is quickly becoming a
common standard for how companies organize their ERG efforts.


Keynote Presentation: “Preparing Corporate America for the Next
Generation Hispanic Workforce”
Description: In his work with over 120 corporations, Dr. Rodriguez has seen
the good, the bad and the ugly when it comes to Latino talent initiatives. But
having such access to the inner workings of corporate America as they try to
connect with Latinos has allowed him to pick up on trends and numerous best
practices. In this session, Dr. Rodriguez will share why corporations must
elevate the level of rigor and sophistication of their Latino talent initiatives in
order to better meet the needs of the next generation Hispanic workforce. In
particular, he will focus on what it takes to accelerate the advancement of
Latino leaders. Discussed will be unique next generation initiatives such as
internal Latino leader caucuses, leadership development programs designed
specifically for Latinos, and leveraging Latino ERGs to groom future Latino
leaders. The session will also serve as a preview of Dr. Rodriguez’ second book
to be titled, “The Latino Leadership Pipeline.”

