Volunteer NORJAM Role Role Description Social Media Manager Responsible to Director of Media & Communications Responsible for Promoting NORJAM using Facebook, Twitter and any other social media that is appropriate Role Description Pre NORJAM Using social media, create an online presence for NORJAM. Engage with participants, leaders and staff prior to NORJAM. Post appropriate material that will generate hype, interest and excitement about the jamboree Work with Managers and Directors to communicate messages using social media Understand the risks of posting inappropriate material and its consequences Be able to react quickly to posts and questions from social media During the jamboree Promote NORJAM through social media. Post photos, video clips, links and news from NORJAM. Respond to comments and questions. Work with Managers and Directors to communicate messages and information. Post NORJAM Produce a report of what went well? Lessons learnt? Things to do next time Applicable for all of the above Monitor all posts/comments for appropriateness. Bad language and negative comments must be removed immediately. Social media is accessible by people of all ages, and a large proportion of Scouts and Guides are below 18 years old, so material (photos / posts / comments / videos / links) all needs to be age appropriate.
