Terms and Conditions
A maximum of 40 works will be accepted. Each student may submit only one work, and works will be accepted on a first
come, first serve basis. Artwork from all media will be accepted and works must be exhibition ready. Please see
Submission Guidelines on page two. Artworks in the Starfish Student Art Awards are not eligible.
Students will be paid for works sold within 30 days, less 20% operational costs for the Starfish Student Art Sale.
Entry deadline is Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 5:00 pm. Works and completed application forms must be delivered at the
same time to the Office of University Relations, NSCAD University, 5163 Duke Street, 4th Floor.
All unsold works must be collected from the Office of University Relations by Thursday, May 28, 2015. Items will not be
stored past this period, and become the property of the Office of University Relations.

Guidelines for Works Submitted
!
Works from all media will be accepted.
!
All works submitted must be a product of the artist’s own efforts and must have been made at or in connection with
NSCAD University.
!
All works and/or packaging must be clearly labeled to help University Relations organize and display the works
properly. These labels must include:
o artist’s name
o artwork title
o year made
o email and/or phone number
!
Two-dimensional works must not exceed 120 cm x 120 cm and weigh less than 15 kg. Unframed works such as
prints, photographs and drawings must include proper packaging for display (clear sleeves and backing board)
and all framed or heavier works must be provided with wire for hanging. Unframed canvas must have tidy, finished
edges.

Three-dimensional works must not exceed 120 cm x 120 cm x 120 cm and must weigh less than 30 kg. Smaller
pieces, especially jewellery pieces, should have appropriate boxes or packaging for sale.
!
All works submitted must be in excellent condition. Damaged works including, but not limited to: chipped, dented,
scratched, rolled up and folded works will be rejected.
!
All works submitted must be finished, hazard-free and dry when submitted. Hazardous works may damage other
works or people and will be rejected. Hazards may include, but are not limited to: wet paint or finishes, wet glue,
sharp edges, exposed nails, screws, or staples, and unsafe hanging equipment.
!
Works requiring special installation should have clearly written installation directions provided in the “Other Details”
section. If more space is required, please attach clearly written, detailed installation instructions. In certain cases,
the student may be asked to assist in the installation.

A maximum of $1000.00 is suggested for works in the Starfish Student Art Sale.
!
Participating artists will receive 80% of the profits from the sale of their work. The additional proceeds go to
student staffing of the Starfish Student Art Sale.
