As Christian Catholics at every Mass we receive Jesus who is truly present, body and blood under the species of bread and wine. Today we celebrate the Eucharist in a very special way. The Catholic Church teaches and upholds that the Eucharist is the source and summit of the life and mission of the Church. Consequently, the Eucharist is the center of every Christian Catholic community, large or small. Just as God fed the Israelites in the desert with manna on their journey to the Promised Land so Jesus feeds His Church with His Body and Blood on our pilgrimage toward heaven. My brothers and sisters, on this wonderful Feast of Corpus Christi let us strive to always receive Jesus in the Holy Eucharist with love, devotion and gratitude. Blessings! Fr.
