SAINT MARGARET SCHOOL NEWS
THE GOOD NEWS FROM YOUR P.R.E.P.
(Parish Religious Education Program)
March 31, 2015
Dear Parishioners,
I have interviewed many prospective families
in the last month or so. Sometimes, when I do not have
a meeting to go to or a class to observe, instead of
enlisting the help of one of my assistants, I will bring the
visitors on a tour of the school myself. One comment
that I love to hear is that the children are well-behaved
and happily engaged in their work. I have heard the
word, “happy” quite often. This makes me very proud. I
have an exceptionally dedicated faculty and staff and a
school filled with children who enjoy being here.
What more can a principal ask for?
Have a blessed Easter!
Carolyn M. Slattery,
Principal

+ From my point of view, God is the light that
illuminates the darkness, even if it does not dissolve
it, and a spark of divine light is within each of us.
+ Find new ways to spread the word of God to every
corner of the world.
+ We must restore hope to young people, help the
old, be open to the future and spread love. We need
to include the excluded and preach peace.

Blauvelt, NY 10913 www.osullivantree.com
In this memoir, set as deeply in his mind as in the
Southeast Asian jungle, a young American soldier embarks
on a journey to a war that, for him, will never be over.
The world was a playground for Mickey,
a naive Irish American kid bored with
his life. His father served in World War
II, his brother was a Marine in Vietnam;
now it was his turn. His 365 days in
Vietnam builds in torment until an
attack on a bunker complex in Cambodia.
Wounded, his friend captured, he
becomes a tormented survivor knowing
he is always just a heartbeat from death.
