About the role
Reporting to the Site Manager in this critical role, you will take full accountability for running the Retort plant.
Managing a substantial team, you will focus on driving performance across all functional areas including
production, engineering, quality, safety, logistics and continuous improvement. Your challenge will be to impact the
bottom line through driving continuous improvement and cost control, whilst delivering best practice outcomes in
line with KPIs including safety, customer service, quality and plant efficiency. You will also be charged with driving
the site's continuous improvement program. This is a genuine leadership role where people, financial management
and vision will be key.
Skills & Experience
To be successful, you must have gained significant experience as a Production, Manufacturing or Operations
Manager within a high volume, quality and customer focused, blue-chip FMCG or Agribusiness manufacturing
environment. The retort facility is a recent significant capital investment for the business therefore a Production
Manager with experience in overseeing installation and commissioning of major capital is strongly preferred.
Preferably tertiary qualified, you are a proven leader with a strong and successful track history of driving
exceptional performance. You have achieved such results because of your highly developed commercial & financial
acumen, strong emphasis on continuous improvement, years of manufacturing experience and your passion for
engaging, motivating and leading large teams. Experience in food is strongly preferred but the Agricultural and
Pharmaceutical industry is also of interest.
