Stainless Steel Sample Cylinders are hot spun from seamless 316 stainless steel for maximum integrity and corrosion resistance. All cylinders are heat code traceable Inertium TM Surface Treatment All stainless steel cylinders and valves can be supplied with Inertium surface treatment for use in high sulfur applications. Inertium almost eliminates the interaction of fragile sulfur compounds with the valves and cylinders, improving sampling accuracy and precision, as well as extending the storage time. Cylinders are atomic cleaned before processing to remove any traces of contaminants or volatile chemicals that might interfere with the sampling. ADD “SI” to above part number for Inertium treatment. (see back for valves) VALVES FOR SAMPLE CYLINDERS We offer a wide variety of valve types and materials to fit your specific request. To change the standard configuration - add the following dash codes to the model number: 316 Stainless Steel Body, Bonnet, and Stem Monel Body, Bonnet, and Stem Viton O-Rings Buna-N O-Rings for MTBE Service Kalrez™ O-Rings Ethylene Propylene O-Rings Teflon Seat Nylon Seat Seat with Metal Insert 2” Dip Tube 3 3/4” Dip Tube Red Handle (other colors available on special order) -768 -M -12 -59 -08 -06 -T -N -763 -2E -3 3/4 -R Note: If more than one modification is required, add dash code to model number in sequence listed. Dash codes also apply to Bonnet Assemblies and Rupture Disc Tees where applicable. RUPTURE DISC ASSEMBLIES The nominal rupture disc burst pressure should be at least 40% higher than the system operating pressure. Rupture disc burst pressure will be reduced by pulsating pressures, elevated temperature, and internal or external corrosion. In corrosive applications, regular inspections or pressure tests are necessary. Use of this rupture disc in vacuum or alternating vacuum/pressure applications may cause premature disc failure. When vented, the rupture unit presents a potential danger caused by noise and escaping pressure, chemicals or fragmented particles. The complete Rupture Disc Assembly consists of the disc, washer & holder. Each holder is etched with the nominal burst pressure and each disc is color coded for identification. To replace or inspect rupture disc: 1 - Remove holder, Disc, & Washer from valve body. 2 - Re-install or replace the washer & disc, then thread in the holder. Holder should be torqued per the following: Nominal Burst Pressure 500 1000 1500 1900 2850 Color Code Blue Red Yellow Green Orange Torque in Inch Pounds 40 75 120 140 215 Myers & Co., Inc. • 121 Seventh Avenue • Valencia, PA 16059 Phone: 724.625.0003 • Toll Free: 800.308.6916 • Fax: 724.625.3077 Web: www.myerscoinc.com • Email: robert@myerscoinc.com (see front for sample cylinders)
