During the same period last year there were 100 crimes, this year there were 60. During the team’s recent PACT meeting the key concerns identified were anti social behaviour, tissue begging, and misuse of level crossings. The team worked very hard in partnership with stakeholders and TOCs by carrying out operations and initiatives. Operations & Initiatives Operation Trafalgar – Hot spot policing focuses on recent incidents of crime, using statistical data over a period of three years. Designing patrol strategies, to be at the right place at the right time, to reduce crime. As part of these patrol strategies the NPT have carried out Hi Visibility patrols at our identified hot spots consisting of Sutton and East Croydon stations. They also engaged with staff, and the feedback received from the public and staff has increased public confidence. Op Sneeze – Joint plain clothes initiative led by PC Del Morriss with Southern Railway and Railway Neighbourhood officers (RNOs) to deal with tissue begging offences, also received positive feedback from Stakeholders. This has lead to 20 prosecutions in court. PACT Meeting Dates Police and Communities Together (PACT) meetings are held so that the London Bridge NPT can meet with passengers, station staff, shop tenants and managers in order to discuss issues and problems regarding the stations we patrol, and develop solutions. Op Look – The NPT has participated in the national force lead operation to deal with criminal offences at level crossings. In terms of enforcement this has lead to various drivers being prosecuted for driving offences and positive engagement with the local schools to educate and warn school children about the dangers of level crossings. PC Ronnie Sempa worked really hard on this initiative and engagement with the local community and this picture was tweeted by the MP for Merton Siobhain McDonagh. rd Tuesday 3 February 2015 PACT Meeting @ Croydon 13.00 If you would like to attend please contact PS Mahmood on 0208 209 6332 Working in partnership with Staff Assaults/Early Intervention Programme – The NPT worked in partnership with the RNOs and the Southern Railways management training and victims of staff assault. This was attended by members of the Emergency Services, Metropolitan Police, Southern Railways, TfL, Croydon Council and local businesses.
