Email is received at svbc@svbc.cc. SVBC Prayer Line 270.769.PRAY We'll be having Parent-Child Dedication Services on Sunday morning, October 26. As you commit to making your home a place of godly instruction, your church family will be pledging to support and encourage you and your family. It's a meaningful experience for both your family and the church. Although it's designed for parents with young children, if you or others you know have older children you can also be involved. I strongly encourage you to participate in this special service. We ask all participants for a recent photo of your child to be published in the church newsletter. Also please submit a scripture verse for your child and/or family. This verse could be a scripture you pray over your child or children or it could be a life verse for your family. The photo and scripture verse will be included in the bulletin on dedication day. Pick up an information form in the preschool hallway or download a printable form from our web site. All documents need to be turned in to Jen Wright (jen@ svbc.cc) by Wednesday, October 15. I'll contact you for additional information regarding which ser- vice you would like to be a part of once I receive this information. Lastly, there's a mandatory Parent’s Meeting on October 19 immediately following the 10:45 a.m. service for all families who are participating in the dedication. It's going to be a special day! Jen Wright Interim Preschool Director Editing Staff Linda Polley Jennifer Fulkerson OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD "Operation Christmas Child [OCC] seeks to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to needy children around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Since 1993, OCC has provided gifts to more than 100 million children in more than 130 countries. In addition, many children participate in OCC’s discipleship program, The Greatest Journey. More than a million shoebox recipients have become believers in Jesus Christ over the past four years." -Samaritan's Purse info@svbc.cc @severnsvalley This year SVKids is changing up how we participate in OCC. In years past, we have hosted a church-wide packing party. This year we really want to see families participating in this meaningful, memorable event together. We are challenging each family to pack at least one shoebox and then bring your filled box to the church by the severnsvalley first week of November. So make a day of it! Head to dinner together and talk about the importance of giving to others. Then have fun shopping for a little boy or girl (or both) and let your child pick out the perfect gifts to put in the box. Spend time writing a letter to the recipient (you never know, you may get a letter in return!), and then pray for the little boy or little girl who will receive the precious gift of not only a shoebox filled with goodies, but the gospel! Stop by the Operation Christmas Child display outside the indoor playground for information, labels, and coloring sheets to place in your box. Drop off your filled box at the same location by Sunday, November 9.
