ALLEGAN HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

 All Varsity tennis players should report to the tennis courts today by 3:00 for an
important meeting and practice.
 Congrats to the Marching Band for their outstanding performance at the Belding
Invitational on Saturday. We placed 3rd out of 8 bands with a score of 84.7. Please
come to our Pizza Hut Fundraising night this Wednesday from 5-8 P.M.
 Timber Ridge Ski Club 2014-15 pay-as-you-go student and adult information and
forms are available in the main office. Questions please call Mindy Sturman at
269-806-8501.
 The APS Fieldhouse, behind the middle school, is now open to the community for
walkers, joggers, during the following hours: 6:00-7:30 A.M. and 5:30-7:30 P.M.
(Monday-Friday).
 Students can purchase student tickets PRIOR to any athletic event for just $1.00.
Students need to purchase these tickets before school, during lunch, or after school
until 4 P.M. NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AFTER 4 P.M.
 High School Parent-Teacher Conferences will be this week at the high school.
Tuesday, October 14th and Wednesday, October 15th from 4:00-7:00 P.M.
 There is now a crossing guard for high school by Speedway from 6:45-7:45 A.M.,
11:15-12:15 P.M. and 2:30-3:30 P.M.
 Hey AHS come out and support your very own Dancing Docs this Saturday Night
in the Performing Arts Center when Allegan High School’s Dancing Dr. Isola, and
his wife Dr. Isola, take on the doctors from Allegan Hospital in this year’s edition
of Dancing with the Docs. This is an annual fundraiser for Wings of Hope Hospice
and the Doctors Isola face some pretty stiff competition from the M.D.’s. So come
out and support them with your donations, your cheers and your applause and
watch the PhD’s battle the MD’s with fancy footwork and some stylish moves.
 Any student who is interested in traveling to France in June 2015 who has NOT
yet signed up, October 15th is the deadline to lock in at the current price. After that,
prices will go up. See Ms. Boes or Mrs. Kiel for details or if you have questions.
 Are you ready to have some awesome Spanish Club activities! Do you want to
save your seat for the spring field trip? Then come sign-up for the Spicy Spanish
Salsa Club Fundraiser with Mrs. Ojeda-Greig or Senor Westgate today.
 Cell Phones- the media center is collecting cell phones. Please bring in your
unused cell phones to the media center. Collection is on-going, so bring them in
anytime.
 Attention students who plan on visiting a college during this school year. There
are College Visitation Forms in the Attendance Office that need to be taken with
you on your visit. The form needs to be signed by a college official. Once the form
is signed and turned back into the Attendance Office your attendance code will be
changed to PSO. You are allowed 2 PSO absences per YEAR, not per TRI, and
these are not counted as absences. Please see Mr. Orr or Mrs. Lange if you have
any questions.
 Attention students: If you have a vacation or time that you need to take off and
you will be absent for 3 or more days, you need to pick up a Prearranged Absence
Form in the Attendance Office. This form has to be signed by your parent/guardian
and initialed by all your teachers. Once the form has been filled out you can return
it to the Attendance Office. This form helps not only your teachers to know that
you will be gone, but the Attendance Office. Also be aware that it is your
responsibility to get your work from your teachers for your absence, it will not be
requested for you. Please see Mr. Orr or Mrs. Lang if you have any questions.
 Halloween is just around the corner. And what better way to celebrate the holiday
than with a Halloween “Dive In” pool/movie party! Bring your swimsuit and a
friend for a fun night lounging in the pool in intertubes watching” Hotel
Transylvania” on a projector, playing games, winning prizes, and eating ice cream!
This is a completely free event, put on by AIM, a new non-use organization
specifically for Allegan High School. Come to the high school pool October 16th,
7-9:30 for a fantastic Halloween night.
 Have you seen the sweet CRAVE21 posters around school? Well, the Allegan
High School Pro Youth Team has a challenge for you, CRAVE21 is a challenge to
give up a “crave” or eliminate a habit for 21 days, replacing it with something
positive or healthy. For a reduced prize of $5, you can join the challenge, get an
awesome t-shirt, enter a drawing to win cool prizes, and get support to learn how
to handle cravings! Interested? Find the Pro Youth Team outside the lunch room
from Monday, October 20th through Friday, October 24th! Questions? Find one of
your Pro Youth team members; CC Cerven, Mackenzie Sturman, Joey Orr, or Nate
Wallace.

 Hello Allegan High School! The ORANGE KRATE will be selling personalized
lanyards for $7 each. Come in to the Krate to order yours today! You must pay
ahead for the lanyard when you come in. We will have a sign-up sheet in the Krate
today (10/7) through Friday, October 17th. Have a Krate day!
 Attention all students…If you have an issue with your netbook device, you are to
take it to the media center and they will write up a repair ticket for you. As soon as
your device is repaired, it will be given back to the media center. This means you
need to check in with the media center to get your device back once it has been
fixed. Please do not bring your devices to Mrs. Hoyer’s room directly.
 Do you want to work for yourself? Earn some money? Join us for the
Entrepreneurship Program called TREP$ and learn small business basics and earn
money by selling your own product. The workshops will be Tuesday’s after school
2:30-4:00 P.M. October 21st through December 2nd. You will develop your own
product or service and create a simple business plan. We will purchase the
materials needed to make the product or provide the service up to $150. We
provide a marketplace for you to sell your product or service and you keep your
earnings. Sign-up by October 15th at the counseling office! Limited Spots!
 French Club is selling headphones for $3 and wireless mice for $5. See Ms. Boes
or Mrs. Kiel before or after class.
 Are you interested in joining a No H8 club to make Allegan a more accepting
place for all people to feel safe and be themselves? Join us every Wednesday in
room 806 at lunch to be a part of this new club and to make a difference. Feel free
to bring your lunch and your FRIENDS!
 Attention Freshman: A reminder that Jostens representatives will be here on
Thursday, October 16th during lunch by the cafeteria and in room #904 at 4:30
P.M.-6:30 P.M. to size you and help you place your class ring order. Don’t forget
that by ordering on this day you can save up to $50.00 on select ring styles and
purchase a discounted Class of 2018 Pride Pack.
 Any upperclassmen who are in need of warranty adjustments or who would like to
order a class ring should plan on seeing Jostens at that time also. Extra order
information packets are available in the office.
 Hey Seniors! Bring your college acceptance letters into the counseling office, let
us make a copy and we are going to hang them up to show off how awesome you
are!
