PRISONERS’ SUNDAY 12th OCTOBER
Good and Gracious God,
In your Son Jesus Christ
You offer us the way to new life.
WE PRAY
For those imprisoned by grief and fear
As a result of the actions of other.
For those imprisoned in gaol and cell
As a result of their own actions; and
For those who can find no other life than in
The never-ending imprisonment of violence and crime.
Jesus said: ‘come to me all who are weary and carry heavy burdens.’
Give to those who are wearied by imprisonment the
Courage to change; and to those who
Carry the burden of another’s imprisonment,
An abiding hope, so that we and all your children may be free.
We ask this in Jesus’ name.
Please pray for: Anna O’Donnell who died recently. (Reception, Thursday 16th October, 5.00pm, Requiem
Friday 17th October, 10am) Also Ann Jones, John Rice, Rita Flynn, Maurice Mullane, Sheila Smith,
Richard Palmer and Peter Satelle whose anniversaries are at this time.
