The United Methodist Women have an important meeting this Wednesday,
October 8 at 7 p.m. Our special guest is a representative from our Heritage
District who will discuss the program our UMW will be hosting in February
2015. All women are invited to join us for an evening of devotions,
information, planning, and, of course, food and fellowship.
Disciple II starting Sunday, October 12th, led by Rev. Bill Snotherly. “This 32
week study offers a deeper examination of Genesis, Exodus, Luke and Acts,
emphasizing the rhythm of coming to God and going for God… approaching all
experiences of life as opportunities for faithful witness and service.” The class
will be held in the old fellowship hall located upstairs in the education
building. Contact Bill at wwsjr@nccumc.org for questions. Please sign up in
the narthex by October 5th. Nursery and programs for children are available.
Conversation Cafe on Caregiving
Are you now a caregiver or do you see that role in your future? Attend an
upcoming Stephen Ministry Conversation Café session to hone your skills in
taking care of a loved one. It takes patience, strength, diplomacy and lots of
love to be a caregiver. Share your caregiver advice and learn from others who
are going through exactly what you are. This informative conversation will be
guided by Transitions LifeCare. Light refreshments will be served. This
program for Caregivers will be held on October 12th at 3 p.m. in the
Fellowship Hall.
New Member Classes
There are two new member class sessions coming up. October 19th & 26th at
9:45 am (during Sunday School hour) and November 9th and 16th at 9:45 am.
You must attend two sessions. You may attend both October sessions or both
November sessions or you may attend session 1 in October and session 2 in
November. Each class will take place in Donald’s office. Please let me know if
you have any questions. If you have decided you would like to join Wake
Forest UMC please plan to attend a class.
Help Needed
If you know of someone who would be available to help move boxes or would
be able to yourself please call the office for details. There is a person in the
church who has recently moved and would like to hire someone to help them.
A volunteer would also be welcome.
Garden Shed Eagle Project
Grant Radding is building a gable roof garden shed for WFUMC for his

your support.

Simply bring your scrap metal to WFUMC parking lot on Saturday, October
11th from 8:00am - 1:00pm and Grant will do the rest!

Imagine No Malaria Skeeter Run 5K
– Wake Forest!!
The Skeeter Run 5K is a part of the NC United Methodist Churches No More Malaria
campaign. The Heritage District of the United Methodist Church is working to raise money
to support Imagine No Malaria. The Skeeter Run 5K is a part of this campaign to help wipe
out malaria.
Unlike many other diseases that are awaiting a cure, malaria was eliminated in the U.S. in
the 1950s. However, in Sub-Saharan Africa, malaria continues to kill a person every 60
seconds. But there is hope! Imagine No Malaria is part of a global partnership and together
with our partners; our generation can beat malaria once and for all.
