Numerus clausus BSc Aerospace Engineering
Numerus clausus procedure
The Numerus clausus selection procedure consists of:


a Decentralized selection by the Faculty or Aerospace Engineering
a Central selection by the Ministry of Education
Decentralized selection
To participate in the so-called Decentralized selection (pre-selection) by your faculty you
need to meet two (so both) deadlines:
1. Application deadline TU Delft:
You must upload your complete TU Delft application before 15 January 2015.
If we receive the upload application later, but before 1 April 2015, you can only
participate in the Central selection.
2. Registration deadline in Studielink:
You must have completed your registration in Studielink before 1 May 2015.
www.studielink.nl
The decentralized selection will be done by the selection committee of the faculty

AE candidates: see procedure Decentralised Selection Aerospace Engineering.
During the decentralized selection the best 25% of the total capacity will be selected for a
place in the course, provided that you will also meet the other requirements. Results are
expected by Mid-April 2015.
If you are not selected in this decentralized selection (or in case you did not meet the
deadlines mentioned above) you will automatically enter into the Central selection; see
next paragraph.
Central selection by DUO (mid-July)
All candidates:


who were not selected in the decentralized selection or who did not participate in this
selection and
who register(ed) in Studielink before 1 May 2015
will enter into the Central selection by DUO. DUO is a department of the Ministry of Education
(not to be confused with DUWO, the student housing company of Delft).
The remaining places in the Central selection will be allocated by means of a lottery among
all candidates that have not been selected yet, both Dutch and internationals. More
information on the procedure can be found at www.duo.nl
The first batch of results of the Central selection process will be send from mid-July onwards.
Results will be send to your correspondence home address as known in Studielink (and will
be announced by means of a message in Studielink.
All Bachelor of Sciences programmes will start in the first week of September. It will not be
possible to start a programme later than this date.
Direct placement
Candidates who achieved or expect to obtain an European preliminary education or an
International Baccalaureate with final results that are comparable to the average of an 8.0 or
higher in the Netherlands will be directly placed in the Central Selection. As a guide line: you
should be in the top 4% of all applicants to qualify. See the list of most common European
diplomas www.duo.nl The results of the direct admission will be announced from mid-July
onwards.
15 Mei verklaring (15-May statement)
As part of the selection process TU Delft needs to provide DUO with a document that you
meet (or are going to meet) all requirements needed for your course. This document is called
a '15-mei-verklaring'.
TU Delft will send a digital statement concerning these requirements directly to DUO shortly
before 15 May. So you need not ask us to do this.
However, if you still had deficiencies while applying, and those deficiencies have been taken
away, please provide us with the necessary proof before 15 May.
Note that the Dutch language requirement mentioned by DUO does not apply the BSc course
Aerospace, as this is taught in English.
Bewijs van Toelating (Proof of Admission)
If you have been selected for a place either in the decentralized selection or the central
selection DUO will send you a final Bewijs van Toelating (Proof of Admission) after the
complete procedure has been finished (so not before mid-July).
Registration in studielink required
Always make sure that you register in studielink before the deadline. If you do not, you
cannot be placed, even if you will be selected.


If you upload your complete TU Delft application before the application deadline of
15 January and you want to participate in the decentralized selection, you should tick
the box “selection via TU Delft” while registering in Studielink”. Afterwards Studielink
will display your status as: Wait for (results of) decentralized selection (or an
equivalent; the messages change regularly);
If you upload your complete TU Delft application after the deadline of January 15
(and you therefore cannot participate in the decentralized selection) you should tick
the box “central selection” while registering in Studielink.
Afterwards Studielink will display your status as : Participation for central selection
process transmitted (or an equivalent; the messages change regularly).
Missing documents deadline
Note that you will still be conditionally admitted until you have:


received the Bewijs van Toelating (Proof of Admission) of DUO AND
fulfilled all other administrative requirements.
