The University of Arizona’s Art History Graduate Student Association (AHGSA) is requesting donations in kind for our Second Annual AHGSA Silent Auction, a fundraiser to help finance our 23rrd annual Art History Graduate Symposium. The objective of AHGSA is to promote interest in the discipline of Art History. To do this, we provide fellowship among students and faculty within the Division of Art History at the University of Arizona, and promote collaboration with our colleagues in the Division of Art and Visual Culture Education. Additionally, AHGSA provides a forum for the presentation of innovative ideas to the benefit of the University and Tucson communities. Since the spring of 1990, AHGSA has organized an annual Art History Graduate Symposium. This highly successful event forms an essential part of the professional development of Art History graduate students at the University of Arizona. This symposium provides a forum for graduate students in Art History and related disciplines—such as Art Education, Visual Culture, and Cultural Studies—to present scholarly research and engage in intellectual debate. AHGSA and its annual symposium are entirely self-sustaining, receiving no funds from the University of Arizona. As such, fundraising occupies a large portion of our efforts as an organization. Last year, we hosted our first AHGSA silent auction, an event which was so successful that we have decided to make it an annual event. What made the auction such a success was the generous donations of local businesses like yours! We would greatly appreciate any donation your business can provide (large or small!). This year’s AHGSA Silent Auction will this November in Tucson, and will be attended by important members and supporters of the Tucson arts community. We would happily acknowledge your generous support appropriate signage and recognition in our auction and spring Symposium programs. Further still, we invite you to include a small stack of brochures or business cards to display with your donation. To make a donation: Contact auction coordinator, Marijana Rayl, at: mrayl@email.arizona.edu; (316) 706-3852 to have an AHGSA member pick-up your donation Thank you for your support!
