Last Friday, Oct 10th, 18 of our young
adults celebrated the Sacrament of
Confirmation her at Our Lady of
Mercy Family. Bishop Arthur J.
Serratelli, conferred the Sacrament of
Confirmation on each of our young
adults, making them full members of the Roman Catholic
Church. We call on our heavenly Father to nurture their
faith and give them the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit.
This is not an easy time for our young adults and they
need our prayers, support and love. Let us keep them in
prayer and congratulate them in the final step of their
initiation into the Faith. Thank you to Annemarie Torre,
our catechist, and to Lisa Dempsey for coordinating the
program. We are very proud of you all Marissa Ashton, John Cappellini, Natalie

SECOND COLLECTION
Next weekend our parish will celebrate World
Mission Sunday. This year we are invited to reach
out and help build the Church in Mongolia, the
world’s youngest Catholic Church, as well as local
churches throughout the Missions, in the most
remote areas across our world. Through the work
of these churches, and their witness to Christ, the poor receive
practical help and experience God’s love and mercy, His hope
and peace. Please keep the Missions in your daily prayers and
come prepared next weekend to give generously in the
collection for the Society for the Propagation of the Faith. For
more info, please visit www.IAmAMissionary.org

FAITH AT HOME
Here is the 3rd suggestion from a new article, entitled
“Ten Things That Make a Great Catholic Family.” 3.
Simply Care...Catholic families blessed with
resources are called to use them to ensure that those
who have little have a chance at a better life. Faith
Builder: Talk together about the concept of tithing. Find out
what is really important to your family, and devote some of
your hard-earned resources to that cause. (Don’t forget to watch
for the 4rd suggestion, which will be in next week’s bulletin)
Enjoy your week! Lisa
