The PATA New Zealand Trust Young Tourism Leader Award
recognises the next generation of people who will pave
the way for the future of New Zealand tourism.

The PATA New Zealand Trust Young Tourism
Leader Award (formerly the PATA Young Tourism
Entrepreneur Award) provides an introduction and
access to key leaders in the New Zealand tourism
industry.
Award Criteria
Entrants will need to demonstrate leadership in the
tourism industry.
Entries will be judged on the broad criteria outlined
below. Full criteria and scoring information is

1. Business success - Proven record of
business/commercial success in the tourism
industry (approx.500 words)
2. Industry leadership - Evidence of broader
commitment to the growth and success of the
industry involvement in industry bodies - local
and national (approx.500 words)
3. Tourism Vision - A clear and inspired
articulation of how they would like to see
tourism evolve in New Zealand and the role it
will play in New Zealand's development
(approx. 500 - 700 words)

The PATA New Zealand Trust Young Tourism
Leader Award is granted by the PATA New
Zealand Trust, a not-for-profit New Zealand trust
dedicated to investing in New Zealand’s tourism
future. The award is the industry’s most
prestigious recognition of its most talented, up and
coming leaders.
We’re on the lookout for this year’s PATA New
Zealand Trust Young Tourism Leader, a talented
individual with great passion for the tourism sector
and a commitment to professional excellence.

for the delivery of the New Zealand tourism

The PATA New Zealand Trust Young Tourism Leader Award is traditionally part of the Tourism Industry Awards managed by the
Tourism Industry New Zealand Trust. For 2014, entries will be judged by a panel of industry representatives. The PATA New
Zealand Trust Young Tourism Leader Award winner will be invited to receive the award at the TIA dinner following the TIA Summit
on November 4, in Wellington.
