CCA Flexible cables
The CCA110 power cables of copper clad aluminum conductor combine the super
light weight of fine stranded aluminum wires with a pure copper cladding to create
bimetallic wire conductors that provide superior flexibility with the conductivity and
corrosion resistance of copper. Insulated and sheathed in low smoke, halogen free
compounds CCA110 cables provide superior mechanical&environmental properties,
with no corrosive by products of combustion.
For CCA110 cables, the ratings have all been calculated in
accordance with Australian Standard AS/NZS 3008.1.1 this
standard includes various circuit configurations such as single
and three phase and various installation arrangement such
as in air, direct buried in ground.
The continuous current rating of a cable is determined by the
ability of the cable to dissipate the heat generated by the
current passing through its conductor. It depends on a number
of parameters, but the most important are:

the conductors DC resistance

the thermal resistance of the
insulating sheathing materials
!
ambient conditions of the
environment where the cable
is installed (for example the
surrounding air temperature)
