CALENDAR CHANGE: the faculty retreat day originally scheduled for Friday, April 24 has been rescheduled to the following Monday, April 27. There will be no
school for our students on Monday, April 27.
Parish Day of Reflection in celebration of our 50th year as a faith community: We Believe, and Therefore Speak: A time away from the busyness of our lives to
reflect upon our relationship with Jesus, a time for quiet prayer, a time to celebrate Holy Eucharist together: all in the peaceful setting at Saint Raphaela Center here in
Haverford on October 16, 2014. Come and join us as we contemplate upon our call to be believers in the Good News of Jesus and sharers of His message as we journey
in life with our sisters and brothers. The day will include two conferences given by Deacon David Schaffer, quiet prayer, time for Confession, Mass and lunch. The day
begins at 9am and will conclude at 2:30p. The fee is $25 which includes refreshments and lunch. Any questions call Sister Carol at 610 525-3100. Please find the

STUDENT COUNCIL AND SOCIAL JUSTICE NEWS
WOW!!!! The Kindergarten and 1st grade collected over 320 jars of peanut butter and jelly for the Nutritional Development program. This will be distributed to food banks
throughout the diocese. A big thank you to all who participated
The Sixth Grade is leading the Social Justice Project for October. We are collecting monetary donations for the Mothers’ Home in Darby. The Mothers’ Home is a nonprofit organization that provides shelter for homeless expectant mothers. While at the Mothers’ Home, the women are given assistance through life skills and job
preparation in addition to help with their pregnancies and infant care.
Each classroom has a baby bottle in which the children can donate their change (or paper money). Sixth grade will visit each classroom to collect the donations regularly.
This project will continue through Monday, November 3.
HOME AND SCHOOL NEWS
PIZZA BINGO! Come one come all!! We are looking forward to a fun family night this Friday, Oct. 17th. The festivities begin at 6:30 pm in the Parish Center. We will be
playing 10 rounds of Bingo, with prize baskets for all winners. We will also be raffling off a $100 iTunes gift card.. This raffle is $5 each or 5/$20.
Please send in your pizza order form if you have not already done so. Bingo cards available for purchase at the door, $5 for a 10 games of Bingo.
Please come out and support this great fundraiser for SCJN. Pizza Bingo has been a tradition at SCJN for many, many years. Its great fun for all ages -- Pre K- 8 and for
