The growth of the school since its founding in 2009 has been incredible. When the school first began, twenty-two students were
enrolled. At the end of the last school year, the number of students had climbed to sixty-two. The growth can be attributed most
of all to the very positive reviews that present parents give to others who are looking for an exceptional educational setting for
their child/children. The growth can also be attributed to the school’s marketing plan developed by the HTCS marketing
committee.

The 2013-14 school year was filled with many wonderful happenings. Enrollment at Holy Trinity increased and the second
Annual Fund campaign held by the school brought in a total of $37,269 that is being used for the new library and bathrooms
for our older students. Also, for the fifth year in a row, Holy Trinity Catholic School won $2,500 in the HTC telephone book
recycling contest that will be used to purchase the computers for our new library. The school also celebrated its first ever
Arts Festival under the direction of Mrs. Kendra Trexler, art teacher, and it was a huge success. The students’ art work was
truly sensational. At the end of the year, our second grade students received the Sacraments of Penance and Eucharist and the
closing ceremony celebrated the accomplishments of all our students.

Welcome the Visiting Madonna
While we are encouraged to
embrace Jesus’ cross, perhaps the
next best thing we can do as the
faithful is to turn to the Blessed
Mother for guidance…”Blessed
Mother, please help me.”
As human beings we can’t do
everything.
But the Blessed
Mother can go to her Son Jesus
and do wonders.
The Knights of Columbus are
offering
intimate
prayer
devotions in your own homes to
all parishioners so that every
family may experience visitation for one week from our
Visiting Madonna. Families will begin to experience a sense
of peace, quiet and reflection while saying the Rosary as a
family with Our Lady. The family that prays together stays
together.
If you are interested in participating in welcoming the Visiting
Madonna or need further details, please call Sam Konrad at
(843) 399-7003 or email him at skonrad1@sccoast.net.

The SCCCW Reverend William F. Pentis Memorial
Scholarship was established in 2009 to honor Father Pentis,
an Oratorian Father, who served as Moderator for the
SCCCW, providing spiritual support for more than 30 years.
His work with Council was a labor of love.
The SCCCW mission is to respond with Gospel values to the
needs of the Church and society in the modern world. It
strives to support, empower, and educate all Catholic Women
in Spirituality, Leadership and Service. The scholarship was,
therefore, created to encourage and promote such themes
among South Carolina Catholic females graduating from area
high schools and planning to attend an institution of higher
education (e.g., university, college, junior college, or
technical school) within South Carolina.
The merit-based scholarship grants one $ 1,500 award to its
recipient.

Thank you for your continued financial support and your food

Community Kitchen, that serves hot meals to 35-60 people
every Thursday, as well as 30-35 families at our Life Changing
Ministry food distribution program every two weeks.
Your contributions are our only means of support for this
growing need in our community. Please continue to drop off

All donations are greatly appreciated.
The R.C.I.A. is a process of spiritual conversion
and growth, over time, in one’s relationship with God
and the Church.
It is a faith journey where adults are fully welcomed
into the Catholic Church. If you’re interested in
exploring a relationship with Jesus Christ; inquiring
about the Catholic Church; becoming Catholic; and
being fully initiated into the Catholic Church through
the celebration of the Sacraments of Baptism,

STEWARDSHIP
COMMUNITY BUILDING
October 23, 2014
Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
We are members of a community of
faith with a long tradition of teaching
and action on human life, marriage and
family, justice and peace, care for
creation, and the common good. As
citizens of the United States, we have a duty to
participate in framing the discussion of public issues
and the selection of those who occupy positions of
leadership. We are blessed with religious liberty which
safeguards our right to bring our principles and moral
convictions into the public square. These Constitutional
freedoms need to be both exercised and protected, as
some seek to silence the voices or limit the freedoms of
religious believers and religious institutions.
With the 2014 general election in the next week, I ask
that you consider the issue of faithful citizenship and
voting with a conscience. Participation in elections
requires careful discernment in light of our moral
principles and faith. As faithful citizens, our decisions
in the voting booth should respect the interests of all,
particularly those members of our society who are weak
and marginalized. When we register to vote, we
willingly accept the task of educating ourselves on the
issues and candidates and voting with a properly formed
conscience. Conscience is more than a voice within
calling us to follow what is considered acceptable
behavior for the day. It provides a constant moral
foundation that guides our thoughts and actions from
the very simple to the most complex. We have a duty to
fully form our conscience and increase its sensitivity to
how the issues before us address and serve the common
good.
In this coming election and beyond, I urge all faithful
Catholics to rise to the occasion and participate in the
political process. This kind of political responsibility is
a requirement of our faith and our duty as citizens.

TRIGESIMO PRIMER DOMINGO DEL TIEMPO ORDINARIO
FIESTA DE TODOS LOS FIELES DIFUNTOS
(San Juan 11,17-27)
Queridos Hermanos:
olvidar a nuestros familiares y amigos difuntos, y siempre
Padre Orlando.
