History
Mother of Mercy High School is located in Westwood, a middle-class suburb on
the west side of Cincinnati. More than fifty elementary schools are represented
in Mercy’s student population with the majority of students entering from local
parochial elementary schools. Students are considered for enrollment regardless
of creed, race or ethnic background. In 2002, Mother of Mercy received the Blue
Ribbon Award by the U.S. Department of Education identifying it as a
“Nationally Recognized School of Excellence.”

Schedule
Mother of Mercy uses a block schedule with
alternating days of four, 85-minute class periods.
The block schedule allows for extended learning
opportunities that promote creative thinking, problem
solving, collaborative learning, project-based activities,
technology integration and the utilization of multiple
intelligences.
