Overview of Project:
GHoPA will be offering a tailored package of support and
learning, including Functional Skills, Media and ICT. Each
beneficiary will be assigned a qualified mentor who will
work with them to agree progression routes and provide
support for personal/social issues.
Beneficiaries will also have access to a “hands on”
6 week work placement in areas of interest such as
coaching, teaching, cooking, sports, environmental work,
media, admin, etc. They will also have the opportunity to
create a video CV to send to prospective employers.
All users will have access to voluntary work in any of the
4 key partnerships of GHoPA, YMCA, Harbour Place or
Shalom. They will learn invaluable new team working
and social and training skills and will also be offered a
free DBS check where appropriate.
Throughout the lifetime of the project, all users will
have options to access further training through support
partners CERT and Nunsthorpe Community Centre who
offer basic skills CV writing, interview techniques, job
