from 1029 East Jefferson in Franklin. Phil
is currently employed at Centra Credit

I want to thank everyone who sent me a card
at my father’s death or contributed to FUMC
in his memory. This weekend I read
through your notes again and really needed
your kind words and encouragement. I am
blessed to work in such a loving community.

DECEMBER DELIGHTS
Joyrides are December 1st and December 15th. A special December only
“Nighttime” Joyride to see area Christmas lights departs on December 17th at
5:30 p.m.
Our Greenwood Shopping Trip will be December 4th at 10:30 a.m.
On December 8th FUMC hosts the Indiana Masonic Home for Euchre in
Fellowship Hall at 1:00 p.m.
Our December Luncheon trip is to the Iron Skillet on the 18th. With fifteen
we will depart at 11:00 a.m. for a delightful lunch of either Tilapia (T),
Shrimp (S), Dark Chicken Meat (DC) for $18.70 or White Meat Chicken
(WC) for $20.00. These charges will be paid at the Iron Skillet and include
all taxes and gratuities. Please indicate your meal preference when signing up
using the initials of the entrées above and paying transportation fees of $10.00
at our Concierge Desk.
Our Red Hat Society will enjoy a Christmas Brunch this year on December 19th at 11:00
a.m. in the Community Center. ROMEOs will have their annual Christmas “Heart Attack”
Buffet for breakfast from their Juliette (Sharon) on December 22nd in the Community Center.
Although there is no charge for these events, please sign up at our Concierge Desk so an
accurate count can be determined!

2:00 - 4:00 p.m. in Wesley Center Lobby. If you missed
last year, be sure to join us this year! The appetizer buffet includes
shrimp cocktail, cheeses & crackers, vegetable platter, fruit platter,
“champagne” and much more! We will have entertainment also. Help
us bring in the New Year!

New York City trip was
canceled but our January
Arizona trip is going and

Our next Joyride is November 17th in our
Silver Belle bus.
We will host the Indiana Masonic Home
for Euchre on November 10th in Fellowship
Hall at 1:00 p.m. Refreshments will be
served.

Luncheon Trip
is to The
Garrison at Ft.
Harrison with at
least fifteen on
November 12th
leaving at 11:15 a.m. for a transportation fee
of $10.75 and a buffet lunch there for $8.50.
November finds our Red Hat Society
lunching at Gray’s Cafeteria on November
21st departing at 11:15 a.m. Transportation
fees are $8.50 and lunch is on your own
there.
On November 24th,
ROMEOs will depart at
7:30 a.m. for Yia Yia’s
Pancake House
(formerly Sophie’s) on
State Road 135 in
Greenwood. Cost for
transportation is $5.25
with breakfast on your own at Yia Yia’s.
Our November
Day Trip on
November 25th is
to the Eiteljorg
Museum in
Indianapolis and
the Christmas Train Exhibit. We will have
several hours to enjoy the museum and have
lunch at their café. Bus fee is $11.00 and
museum tickets are $8.00.

Christmas is
coming and we
are welcoming in
the season with a
Christmas Tea for
everyone, Friday,
December 5th at
2:00 p.m. We are
asking residents and staff to decorate the
tables -- limited to twenty-five (25) tables
and two hundred (200) guests. To register
your table theme call Jane Johnson at
Ext.165. Sign up for guests will be at the
Concierge Desk.
We are pleased to announce you may
purchase from FUMC’s General Store
Christmas notes with a beautiful picture of
our Wright Memorial Chapel as it was
decorated last Christmas. Be sure to check
them out for a unique greeting.
Hank’s family and I extend our most heartfelt
thanks to all who arranged for or participated
in the memorial service for Herman “Hank”
Weidner on October 28th. I can’t imagine a
more caring place to be than FUMC. May
God bless you all!

Activity Department is

has “hidden talents”
such as playing an
instrument, singing,
dancing, juggling,
impersonations,
whistling etc. who would be willing to share
those talents with our residents during the
day, in the evening or on weekends. If you

My heartfelt thanks to my FUMC family and

Wesley Center’s cornerstone
was laid in 1955. Franklin
United Methodist Home
opened their doors in 1957.

completed in 1960, 1965, 1982, 1992, 2000
and 2008.
