Zone Athletics
Congratulations to the 19 students who competed
brilliantly at the Zone and Regional Athletics on
Tuesday. Students who were successful at the Zone
Athletics automatically proceeded to their event and
represented the Region in the afternoon. Our students
who wore the new Mont Albert Primary School
Interschool Sports tops not only looked the part but
were superb in the manner in which they participated
and performed. Thank you to Mr. Luke Byrne who
coached and accompanied our athletes on the day.
There were many exceptional results recorded on the
day however particular mention to Daniel, 5/11 and
the Boys 9/10yr old Relay team; Boys 11 yr old
Relay team and the Girls 12/13 yr old Relay team
who were successful at both Zone and Regional
finals. These students shall now compete at the
School Sport Victoria Primary State Athletics in
Bendigo. It is an extraordinary effort to have twelve
of our students competing at the State Athletics
Carnival. A comprehensive report will be in next
week’s Bulletin.

Prep Information Evening 2011
It was fabulous to meet and greet current parents and
those that are new to Mont Albert Primary School at
our Prep Information session on Monday evening for
2011 enrolled Preps. Thank you to all Prep teachers,
Mrs. Geraldine Constantine, Miss Cara Tebbutt, Miss
Barb Hinkins, and Ms. Jane Doolan as well as Ms.
Shirley Pettitt, Mr. Jehrom Clift and Mrs. Sue
Williams; Sue also organised light refreshments on
behalf of our Parents’ Club for the evening. Mrs. Deb
Ballment and Ms. Liz Sutton opened the uniform
shop for any pre 2011 purchases which was also
greatly appreciated. Thanks also to Mrs. Pauline
Williams & Mrs. Louise Hill (CRE), Mrs. Gayle
Morris & Ms. Monique Flipo (Funcare), and Mrs.
Cathy Goucher (Student Banking) who made
themselves available for any inquiries on the night.

Year 3 Camp
From all reports our Year 3 Campers are having a
sensational time at Camp Rumbug. I look forward
to catching up with them on their return to hear
about their adventures; no doubt there may be a few
tired teachers, parents and students that arrive home
on Friday. Our Year 3 campers are expected to
arrive back at school on Friday between 3.30 and
3.45pm.

2011
A reminder that preparations for 2011 are well
underway. It is vital at this stage that we receive
information about students who may not be returning
next year and that all enrolments for 2011 are
completed.
In a few weeks, teachers will begin discussions
relating to classes for 2011. A number of factors are
taken into account when placing students in class
groups. Please note that it is not acceptable for
parents to request specific teachers or friendship
Continued on Page 2
groupings for their child. If parents feel their child
has specific educational needs in relation to class
placement all communication regarding this will
only be accepted in writing, addressed to the
Principal and must be received by Friday 12th
November.
FUTURE EVENTS
School Hats
Our current Sunsmart policy states that “all students
are required to wear a school approved broad
brimmed (minimum7.5cm brim), legionnaire or
bucket hat when outside which protects the face,
neck and ears and sun protective clothing from the
beginning of September through until the end of
April and whenever the UV index level reaches 3
and above.” Please ensure that your child
remembers to bring their school hat to school each
day.
BER Building site
It has been noted over the last couple of weekends
that unfortunately there have been unwelcome
visitors to our building site even though this area is
fenced off, hence out of bounce. May I remind all
within the community to keep an eye out for any
trespassers. It is illegal to enter the BER school
building site at any time and a call to the police if
this is noted would be appreciated. Trespassers will
be prosecuted and charged if reported and caught.

VCAL ARTS PROJECT
Over the school holidays four students from Box
Hill Senior Secondary College painted a mural on
the wall of the Music room as part of their VCAL
project. It’s a beautiful picture that captures
children playing together. Definitely take the time
to have a look at what they’ve painted, it brightens
up the wall! A big thank you to Jan Persson who
supplied all the paint.

WALKTOBER!
Walktober is happening on the
20th October 2010. It would be
great to see as many people as
possible walking to school on
this day. If you live too far
away to walk the whole
distance, then park a few
streets away and walk from there. The more
people who walk to school, the higher the
chance of winning some fantastic prizes for the
school. So let’s get walking!
PHILIPPINES FUNDRAISER DAY
