Are you enterprising and full of initiative, or are you rather fearful and hesitant? This Gospel is the story of each of us. We are generally afraid to challenge and trust ourselves to change and grow. Rather than changing things that we know should be changed, we cling to what we know and thus feel secure. We learn to live with the nagging sense that things could be better, if only we put in the time and the effort to do something about our lives. Sadly, we take our most precious gifts, our life, our talent and our faith, and put them away for safekeeping. People who are open to the invitations that life brings, find that the results are worth the risks. Whatever risks we take in this life, the Lord is the one who journeys with us in these ventures. He himself is the food for our journey. He himself is our guide in whom we must place our trust. Parish Hospitality - Greeters! We need your smile ~ to greet our parishioners, families, friends and visitors! The holidays will soon be here, we want those who come to worship and pray to feel welcomed and part of our community. You never know when a kind word and a bright smile will lift a person’s spirit or draw someone who has ‘drifted’ away from the church back to God. The ‘job description’ for this ministry is easy: Arrive about 20 minutes before Mass and pick up the Parish Hospitality badge in the sacristy. Choose your ‘favorite’ church entrance. Hand out Missalettes (and any other flyers that are out). When Mass is about to begin, go to your ‘favorite’ pew and thank God for ALL the blessings He is bestowing on you. You can do it just one Mass a month or every week! If you are interested, call the rectory at 467-3068 or just stop in by November 21st. PS… This is a GREAT way for children and their families to help serve our parish community! Enjoy Breakfast with Us this Sunday! Please join Polish School after both masses this Sunday November 16th for breakfast. We will have homemade Naleśniki (crepes) and also soup will be available. This is our annual fundraiser for books for our students. Come support us and enjoy a wonderful breakfast. Bilingual (Polish/English): Catholic Prayers and Practices Books for Children RCL Benzinger Publisher has recently released a bilingual Polish/English book of prayers and practices for Catholics. A digital view of the book is available at rclbsamples.com. The cost is $2.95. This is a $2 discount off the retail price. Plus the price is reduced if we order 11 or more copies. If you are interested in ordering a copy of this book of prayers for children, contact Sonja Stenclik at 467-3068 to place an order by Dec. 1st. Thanksgiving Dinner at St. Stanislaus! Oct. 20th thru Dec. 21st The holidays are FAST approaching! Many of us anxiously await these special holidays in anticipation of the delicious foods we will share with our families. The poor and those in need are just hoping for a hot meal. This Thanksgiving and Christmas let us help to set their tables with bountiful foods to share with their loved ones! ‘Shopping lists’ are available on the altar railings and at the back of the church. Although ALL food items are appreciated, the most critical items needed are: rice and beans (2, 3 or 5lb. bags/boxes) , crackers, peanut butter, jelly, boxes of stuffing and potatoes, gravy, canned/powdered milk, cereal, canned fruits and vegetables. Thank you for living the Corporal Works of Mercy by feeding the hungry! Jesse Tree - Giving to those in Need: November 15 thru December 7 The annual outreach for those in need during the Christmas holidays is starting. We will be supporting children, teens and adults with disabilities who are receiving assistance from Catholic Charities. We will be collecting items for general distribution for Christmas as well as throughout the year. Take an ornament from the Jesse Tree. Stars have items needed for teens and adults, and the Hearts have items needed for children of all ages. No need to wrap the items! The organization needs to ‘see’ what the gifts are to better match them to their clients. All items MUST be under the Jesse Tree by Sunday, December 7th. St. Stanislaus Kostka Church – Rochester, New York CMAngels Tidbit: XXXIII Niedziela Zwykła Bóg w swojej wielkiej miłości nieustannie nas obdarowuje. Owe talenty możemy przyjąć i je pomnażać. Ale możemy owe talenty zakopać głęboko w ziemi. Pytanie tylko, czy warto? Poświęcenie Świec Adwentowych Pierwsza Niedziela Adwentu przypada 29-30 listopada i w tym czasie można przynieść swoje wianki i świece adwentowe do kościoła aby Ks. Roman je poświęcił. Mała ilość jest to sprzedania w poniedziałek 24 listopada w Rel. Ed. Center o 6:15 wieczorem albo na plebanii w godzinach urzędowych. Polska Szkoła Zaprasza na Naleśniki w tą Niedzielę!
