The donations collected will be distributed as follows: 1/2 to St. Joseph's Emergency Family Shelter, 1/4 to purchase food for the MICA food pantry and the remaining to the Grinnell, Montezuma and Brooklyn Ministerial Associations to assist local and transient homeless and nearhomeless families and individuals. Many St. Mary’s parishioners donated their time and talent to make this event a success. You may have shared a nativity set, helped set up the displays, greeted people who attended, shared your musical talent, served refreshments, made a donation or said a prayer. SAVE THE DATE!: Our Lenten Parish Mission will be Monday to Wednesday, February 23-25, 2015, each night at 6:30pm. Fr. Denis Robinson of the Order of St. Benedict, President-Rector of Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology will lead the mission. Fr. Denis is a very experienced and entertaining retreat master, professor of systematic theology, and confessor. This will be an awesome way to begin our Lent. The Adult Catholic Faith Discussion (formerly "Catholic Controversies in the bulletin) meets from 10:15-11:15 am on Thursdays. We will begin with a review of the Councils of the Church. Did you know that there have been 21 ecumenical (or general) councils of the Church? Each council was called to address some area of faith, usually a problem or a heresy. We'll begin discussing the various councils, what they addressed, and the significance of the magisterium and the teaching authority of the Church. We are looking for more volunteers to deliver Meals on Wheels to our senior and disabled neighbors. St. Mary’s is assigned to deliver meals certain weeks throughout the year. Meals are delivered starting at 11:00 a.m. Monday through Friday. Each route has about 8 to 12 stops and takes approximately 60 minutes to complete.
