● Received university research grant to conduct fieldwork in Athens, Greece, for senior honors thesis
● Interview Syrian refugees and asylum-seekers in Arabic to examine the loopholes of the asylum system in Greece and the EU
● Conduct in-depth interviews in English and Greek with parliamentarians, members of refugee agencies, and experts at NGOs
● Follow sound ethical principles, provide confidentiality of research data to protect the identity of Syrian refugee research participants

Coalition for Fair Labor at NYU

● Revived coalition after my visit to a UAE labor camp & the media’s documentation of human rights abuses at NYUAD
● Advocate fair labor standards on NYU campuses by coordinating with faculty & regional experts including legal advisors to the ITUC
● Co-authored a petition calling on NYU to enact fair labor practices in the UAE; petition received over 350 signatures in one week
● Urge NYU to appoint independent monitor of labor compliance and develop policy-oriented research initiatives on labor in the UAE
● Planned and spoke at the first cross-campus teach-in on labor in Abu Dhabi, coordinated with students & faculty at NYU Abu Dhabi
