SERMON OUTLINE!
18 JANUARY 2015
Scripture: John 17:20-26
Title: Believing in the Triune God
Preacher: Pastor Foo Yuk Yee
Introduction
The Apostle’s Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
The simple teaching of the Trinity
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
The difficult teaching of the Trinity
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come again to judge
the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The practical teaching of the Trinity
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
Reflection
Do stay back to pause, reflect and pray about what God has spoken to you during the service. Please be
mindful of others who may be praying. Do share with others over lunch fellowship to encourage them.

18 JANUARY 2015
From The Pastoral Leadership Team
It is recognized that the population of
Singapore is ageing rapidly and it is
estimated that by the year 2030, one fifth
of the population will be above the age of
65. It is safe to assume that the church
population will also age.
We thank God that the church in
Singapore is by and large a young and
youthful church. Living Praise is no
“The fear of the Lord adds length to life..”
exception. We are a family church. Our
Proverbs 10:27a
10 year vision is by end 2022 to have 100
more families in addition to our existing
membership in 2012, to know, love, and enjoy God forever and lead others to do the same.
Every Sunday, we see little children cheerfully and eagerly coming to Sunday school to
listen to Bible stories. What is wonderful to note is parents coming with them. We also see
youths, teenagers, young adults and young families with infants in arm in church. This is
indeed a delight and joy to witness in Living Praise, a reflection of a large and happy family
gathered each Sunday to worship our living and loving God. This is truly what a loving
family should be like: a multi-generational family worshipping God as the heavenly Father.
We pray that every family that joins Living Praise will be fully established in their faith and
grow in their love for the Lord and grow to become a household of believers.
As the church ages, so we will see the number of senior members increasing. It is
encouraging to report that a good group of 15 senior adult members met last month to
agree and support the starting of a Senior Adults Fellowship. It is hoped that suitable
activities will be planned to provide opportunities for closer fellowship amongst them and for
sharing of testimonies of the Lord’s blessings in their lives and their families. Other activities
may consist of recreational walks and visit to places of interest.
Senior adult members may be more mature and may have wisdom gained from life
experiences and also being older in their faith. However, if they are young in their faith, they
will need to be instructed, as the apostle Paul advised Titus to teach the older men to be
temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled and sound in faith, in love and endurance.
(Titus 2:2)
4
Therefore, let’s pray that Living Praise will see in our membership a picture of a multigenerational family knowing, loving and enjoying God forever.
Proverbs 10:27a “The fear of the Lord adds length to life”
“We pray that every family that joins
Living Praise will be fully established
in their faith and grow in their love
for the Lord and grow to become a
household of believers.”
“...starting of Senior Adults
Fellowship .... provide opportunities
for closer fellowship ....”
“This is truly what a loving family should
be like: a multi-generational family
worshipping God as the heavenly Father.”
“Teach the older men
to be temperate, worthy of respect,
self-controlled, and sound in faith,
in love and in endurance.”
- Titus 2:2

Prayers
Pray as we step into a New Year 2015, that we
may continue to trust God for the guidance and
promise and divine help in Sunday School.
Pray for teachers as they rotate to teach the
class or attend service on Sunday; may the
Lord provide sufficient teachers for every level.
And grant them the wisdom, strength, creativity
in teaching and ministering to the children.
Pray for the children as the classes just
resumed on 11 Jan 2015, may they be able to
adapt well to the new classroom and teachers.
May the children continue to trust God, to love
