WEST PERTH ROTARY NEWS
Correspondence from David Arrowsmith:
I have advised Neville Bent of my intent to submit a proposal to the International Committee to
support a program in Cambodia (OIC: The Cambodia Project) where excellent work is being
undertaken in an area sadly lacking in attention to date, children unable to attend school due to
speech issues. The co-founder of OIC: The Cambodia Project, Weh Yeoh, will be presenting his
OIC Cambodia Project to the Rotaract Club of Perth on Tuesday, 27th January at around 6pm.

Rotaract Club

WPRC members are invited. It would be especially great if the International Committee members
are able to attend to learn more about this project and meet with Weh.
Specific venue details will be posted on http://rotaractperth.org.au/

Charter Lunch
We would like to see as many as possible welcome the new Club and its Charter Members into
District 9455. This is a great opportunity not only to meet the new members but to network with
them and the other clubs on the day. If there are any dietary requirements, please email them to
Sheridan at rsvp@ellenbrookrotary.com or call her on 0419 926 054
Payments can be made online to http://www.trybooking.com/GPCN and I would encourage you to
do so as soon as possible to help with catering and general organization.

Student
Carla is now staying with her friend from school Faith and the Chapman family for two months and
then with Jess Whitton’s family for the following three months - both of whom are not Rotarians.
Please review the dinner roster emailed on 18 January and be sure to mark your allocated dinner
in your calendar. If for whatever reason you are unable to host Carla on your rostered day, please
contact another Rotarian and swap with them. As a courtesy, please call the host family or Carla
24 hours in advance to confirm your appointment or if you need to cancel so that the family can
make other arrangements.
Please contact Joseph Cassella, Carla’s Counsellor if you have any further questions regarding
the dinner roster.
