Peace Sunday Prayer of St Francis
Make me an instrument of your peace
Where there is hatred, let me sow love
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness light.
Where there is sadness, joy.
Pope Francis Joy of the Gospel
I dream of a “missionary option”, that is, a
missionary impulse capable of transforming
everything, so that the Church’s customs, ways of
doing things, times and schedules, language and
structures can be suitably channelled
for the evangelization of today’s
world rather than for her selfpreservation.
Now Christmas is over and the decorations are put
away we look for a return to normality. We want our
everyday lives to get some semblance of routine
back. Do we stop and think about our faith and
relationship to God? Do we take the Christmas
message and build it into our prayer lives? Like the
wise men do we take time to learn about Jesus? The
gospel today reminds us we have to make time to be
with Jesus so we can learn his ways and learn to be
more effective at passing on the Gospel message in
our own way to those whom we meet.

In this month which is dedicated to, World day of Peace,
the theme is slavery.

abused.
How can we take part? By gathering as families,
community groups or as individuals in prayer, worship,
meditation and the Holy Rosary for particular chosen
intentions. Please see Posters for more details
