God at The Movies-The 80’s
The National Geographic Channel recently ran a
six part series on the 1980’s. They called the
series "The '80s: The Decade That Made Us". I
watched three of the six part series and really
was challenged. I got challenged by how quickly
time has flown. Didn’t we just live the 80’s?
I’m not the only one that has a fondness for the
1980’s. The National Geographic Channel lays
the claim that the decade of big hair, music videos, and greed has actually laid the foundation for

that said, together we can solve the world’s problems.

Not more stylistic or technologically advanced. I

Worship Team News
Hey, y'all!
Happy Summer! June is
going to be
a busy month
for the worship team
here at Kingswood Church. Back by
popular demand is our
“God At The Movies”
theme, and with it comes
the brand new “Sundaes
on Wednesdays!” That's
right... For 5 weeks, starting May 29th, we will be
having an extra service
on Wednesday night! Afterwards, please stay
and join us for a delicious
ice-cream sundae! This
means that the worship
team will temporarily be
rehearsing on Monday
nights at 6:30 instead of
our usual Thursday night
time slot (just for the
month of June. We will
resume business as usual
in July). So remember to
mark your calendars, put
it in your phones, or write
Youth
it on your hand. Whatever
helps. Thanks again for all
your hard work and dedication. You guys ROCK and
I love you! I'd also like to
take a moment to welcome
Mark Jordan to the team!
He's a really cool guy who
plays bass and we're excited to have him join us. If
you'd like to be cool like
Mark and serve on the worship team by singing, playing an instrument, or helping run sound & lights a
couple times a month, talk
to Brandon. We'd love to
have YOU join us, too! The
commitment each weekend
for instrumentalists is Monday from 6:30pm-8pm,
Saturday from 3:00pm –
5:30pm, Sunday from
8:30am – 11:30am.

You won't want to miss the Big
Summer Adventure in Kidzone.
During the month of June, if
you can come to Kidzone and
tell the teacher what the “Big
Word” is, you will win a prize!
Don't miss the fun and excitement that will be part of our
new series, “Big Summer Adventure.” With
age-appropriate activities for infants
through 5th grade, kids are welcome to join
us during weekend services.
It's hard to believe, but summer Kid’s Camp
is just a few weeks away. If you will have
completed 2nd-5th grades by summer, you
are able to attend
Kids Camp, July 8-11, 2013. Camp is an
invaluable time of fun, adventure, and time
with God. I am so glad I was able to attend camp as a child and also work at
camp as a young adult. Go to this link for
more information about this exciting event:

Awana is taking the summer off. We had a lot
of fun these last few months, and we hope all of
our clubbers have a great and safe summer.
We are already making plans for the next
Awana year which will start in September.
Awana is for ages 2 years old through the fifth
grade.
So many great volunteers helped make this last
Awana year so great. Every week
they came through the doors, many
with their own kids and some who
didn't have any kids in Awana but
wanted to serve. These leaders
came to do many different things to
help out, but all because they believed in what Awana believes... “Because Kids
matter to God!” To every one who helped out
this year thank you so much. You made it possible to reach kids for Christ. We hope you all
have a great summer.
Volunteers Needed!
Kids look forward to Awana all
week! It's where they hear the gospel and learn the Bible in a fun setting, complete with games, theme
nights and special events.
But
Awana can't happen with out dedicated volunteers who serve each week.
We need as much help as we can get. The more
volunteers we have the more things we can do
for these kids. We need many roles filled.
Some leaders will work directly with our clubbers. We also need game directors, listeners,
and computer helpers. One thing is for sure,
you'll have fun!
Please contact Wade Brazil at
awana@kingswoodchurch.org if your
interested in volunteering or if you
have any questions.

Faith Promise
Faith Promise is how we support global and local mission. With a new fiscal year ahead of
us, we are asking you to consider supporting global and local mission by making a faith
promise.
What is it? A Faith Promise is a promise to allocate a certain amount of money monthly over
and above tithing to give towards the missionaries overseas and church plants. The second
weekend of each month we provide an envelope in your worship folder in which you can put
your Faith Promise offering in. You may also use the envelope enclosed in this newsletter if
you like!

The monies that we raise will help support our missionaries in Japan, Bosnia, Panama, the
Middle East, Africa, Australia, Antarctica, and South America, and the Czech Republic as
well as our church multiplication efforts. This year we also hope to support missionaries in
Ireland!
Jesus told us that we are to “go and make
disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father and of the Son and of
the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey
everything I have commanded you. And
surely I am with you always, to the very end
of the age.”. With your continued support,
there is nothing that we can’t do in Blaine
and beyond!
Thank you in advance for supporting this
great cause!
