Governments of Canada and Saskatchewan Invest in Municipal Infrastructure
January 23, 2015 – Ituna, Saskatchewan – Western Economic Diversification Canada
The Town of Ituna will benefit from upgraded water supply infrastructure thanks to joint federal
and provincial funding announced today by the Honourable Michelle Rempel, Minister of State for
Western Economic Diversification, and Glen Hart, Member of the Legislative Assembly for Last
Mountain-Touchwood, on behalf of the Honourable Jim Reiter, Saskatchewan’s Minister of
Government Relations.
The investment will allow Ituna to build a new well near its water treatment plant, update pumps,
and rehabilitate its existing well to provide a reliable supply of clean drinking water. The upgrades
will increase the efficiency and reliability of the water treatment plant and distribution system, as
well as meet expansion needs in this growing community.
The Governments of Canada and Saskatchewan are each investing $124,000 through the
Communities Component of the Building Canada Fund (BCF-CC), with Ituna contributing the
remaining balance of the $372,000 project.
