Edons & Family Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time; The home going of your sister-in-law, Mrs. Brenda Carole Cuff. We, your church family, stand ready to love you, support you, and assist you in your hours of need. As you walk through this time of loss, may you know that the Lord walks with you and He will comfort you. With Love, Your St. Peter Church Family Announcements Health & Wellness Ministry Announcements National Go Red Day Why GO RED St. Peter? And what does GO RED stand for exactly? GO RED is a national movement started in 2004 to empower women and encourage others to break barriers against heart disease and stroke. Heart disease and stroke claim the lives of 1 out of 3 women every year; one woman every minute. 80% of these deaths related to heart disease could have been prevented with education and lifestyle changes. This is why St. Peter goes Red. Our mothers, aunts, sisters, daughters, nieces, grandmothers deserve a fighting chance and we all have the power to make a difference. In fact… Get Your Numbers: have your blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose checked. High blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose are risk factors for heart disease. Own Your Lifestyle: stop smoking, lose weight, be physically active and eat healthy. Raise Your Voice: advocate for more women-related research and education. Educate Your Family: make healthy food choices for you & your family. Teach your kids the importance of staying active. Donate: Show your support with a donation of time to educate others or money to continue research and programs 4 women. Let’s get educated today by picking up information in the Narthex after service; and the Health and Wellness Ministry is asking you to make a commitment to reduce sodium (salt) in your diet by completing the Reduce Sodium pledge cards on the information table. Once a month or every two months, you will receive an email with a healthy tip. You will also be entered into a drawing to win a heart healthy, hardback “Soul Food” cook book. Did you know 75% of the sodium in your diet comes from processed foods; not the salt shaker? Fresh fruits and vegetables are best. Don’t forget to join us February 9th, for hands only CPR training at 7 p.m. Sign up sheets are located across from the large multi-purpose room and located in the Narthex (brochure rack). Learn Hands-Only CPR in 30 Minutes Cultural Heritage Ministry “St. Peter’s Got Talent” On Friday, February 27, 2015, we will present our very first “St. Peter's Got Talent” production, featuring the awesome gifts and talents of our very own church family members. This outstanding program will begin at 7:00 p.m. with a pre-program from the Silver Strings Ministry beginning at 6:45 p.m. Come out to support and be uplifted by song, drama, spoken word, and dance! As it has been our custom for the 18 years of the event, a pot luck soul food dinner will be served beginning at 5:15 p.m. Please sign up across from the large multi-purpose room or in the Narthex following today's service. ~ A SINCERE THANK YOU ~ To: Pastor Walton, First Lady Brenda, Diaconate Ministry and my Church Family It is humbling to be blessed with a loving and caring church family.
