The Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace is pleased to announce that we have produced a Share Lent
resource in Spanish. This flyer presents our 2015 Share Lent campaign, and features a story about Brazilian farmer Maria Dalva, who
works with the Pastoral Land Commission on the rights of farm workers and access to land for small family farmers.

Thinkfast Take the challenge! Development & Peace is challenging Youth to take '25 Hours to Change the World.' Thinkfast is a 25
hour famine. Participants collect pledges for each hour they plan to fast. A Thinkfast famine is an educational, fundraising opportunity
and all the money raised goes to Development & Peace partners in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, who are working to ensure each
human being has access to not only the basic necessities of life like food, water and land, but to also live in human dignity. What will be

Lenten Group Reflection Have you always given something up for Lent? Are you looking to add prayer and reflection to your routines
during Lent instead of giving something up? An hour-long Lenten Group Reflection and Discussion will be offered in the Sacred Heart
Cathedral hall over each of the 6 weeks of Lent based on the Sunday Gospel Readings. These groups will meet at Sacred Heart
Cathedral on Wednesday afternoons at 1:30 pm, following the Soup and Bun lunch, and 8:00 pm Saturday, following 7:00 pm Mass.
Mardi Gras Shrove Tuesday Mardi Gras is coming to Holy Family Parish on February 17th at 5:30 pm. Join us for wonderful food,
games for the children and fellowship with our brother and sisters. Tickets will be on sale after Mass today!
The dinner planned for Tuesday, February 17th has been cancelled.

Mardi Gras/Shrove Tuesday Meal Join us on February 17 from 6pm-8pm at Sacred Heart Cathedral. The young adults in the
Kamloops Catholic Connection group are preparing the meal. It is open to people of all ages. There will be activities such as mask
making and pancake tossing. KCC will be accepting donations which will be given to the New Life Mission.
Justice, Dignity and Compassion Fr. Fred will be facilitating a discussion of doctor assisted suicide at Holy Family Parish on
Thursday, February 19th at 7:00 pm.

Men’s day of Retreat Men’s Day of Retreat focusing on the relationship, identity and mission of Catholic men with Fr. Paul Simms will

Windmills, Wells and Water, 2015 This year, the 13th annual fundraising dinner in support of CPPS Mission Projects in Tanzania,
East Africa. This summer, the sixth group of students will be travelling to the mission territory in Tanzania to assist with these projects.
This event will take place on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at The Coast Hotel and Convention Centre. Cocktails are at 6pm, with dinner,
auction and dancing to follow. Tickets are eighty dollars ($80) per person with a tax receipt for forty-five dollars ($45). For more

Mercy and Forgiveness Lenten Reflection On Saturday, March 7th from 9:30am to 3:00 pm join Fr. Swann Kim at Sacred Heart

Kamloops Hospice Association Concert On Saturday March 14, there will be a fund raiser concert for the Kamloops Hospice
Association. The concert will start at 7:00 pm in the Church Sanctuary at St. Paul’s Anglican Church. (The entrance to the church
sanctuary is at the corner 4th and Nicola Street in Kamloops) Featured performers will include large and small brass ensembles, piano,
organ, flute, hand bell choir, etc. Entrance is by donation at the door. Refreshments and light snacks will be available following the

Deacon Glenn Harmon from California will be preaching a Parish Mission at St. John Vianney Parish from April 27 to April 30, 2015. It
is open to all people from the city parishes and beyond. He will be in Vernon, for his second mission there, the previous week. There

Scholarships and Bursaries
The Catholic Health Association of B.C. will be awarding two bursaries valued at $250.00 each to two 2015 graduating students
enrolled in a Catholic secondary school, or who are members of a BC or Yukon parish and enrolled in a public secondary school or are
home-schooled. Students are asked to submit a 500 word essay that demonstrates an awareness and understanding of the
significance of Spirituality in Health Care. Submissions must be received on or before February 28, 2015. For more details, check the

The Knights of Columbus of BC/Yukon State Council is once again offering 30 bursaries in the amount of $500 each through its
Bishop Thomas J. Lobsinger Memorial Bursary Program. Applications are now being accepted for the 2015 fiscal year. This program
is available to all Catholic students who are enrolled or entering into their second or higher year of post secondary education in the

The Pregnancy Care Centre’s “Empowering Moms” Mentorship program is working with young moms every Wednesday night
beginning by sharing a nutritious “family meal” followed by a life skills workshop. Our goal with this program is to help young moms
become “Independent functioning members of society and the best mom their child deserves”. We are looking for individuals who
would be willing to provide a nutritious meal. With many volunteer meal providers we are asking that you only provide one meal per

The Carmelite Sisters in Armstrong have about 5 bags of alpaca and llama raw wool. The Sisters do not have enough to send
