EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1 2014: The minimum wage goes to $8.40 an hour ($4.20 for tipped employees). Workers under
19 that work 20 or fewer hours per week are exempt from the increase and may still be paid the Federal minimum wage of

JAG JOB POSTING: Montgomery County Public Schools Web Services Seeking Interns for
Spring & Summer. Web Services, Office of Communications is looking for students with web design, HTML,
CSS and Photoshop skills to work in the Rockville office. The ideal candidate would be a student who is

JAG JOB POSTING: Montgomery County Circuit Court Internship Positions Available. Rockville
location. UNPAID position. SSL hours can be earned if applicable. Internships are available for summer and
2015-2016 school year. Interns may have the opportunity to attend court proceedings, network with Court
staff, contact attorneys, as well as meet several of Judges and their staff. The position, at the minimum,
requires an independent worker, who is well spoken, a communicator, organized, ability to lift and push boxes
of files, ability to follow written and verbal instructions, and has sufficient customer skills. This person must be
committed to the internship, as well as show motivation, initiative, punctuality, reliability, and the ability to
maintain professionalism. The intern will work in conjunction with several offices within the court system.
Students may be placed in other offices within the court, as needed. Please be advised that the internship
does not provide a direct working relationship with/for a Judge, in the courtroom, nor for attorneys.
For the Summer, it is preferred that interns work at least six to eight weeks, with a certain degree of flexibility
for camps/vacations/other obligations, and a minimum of eight hours a week at least two days a week. For the
School Year, it is preferred that interns work a minimum of six hours per week at least two days a week.

JAG JOB POSTING: Maryland Delegate-Elect Marc Korman is looking for student interns to assist
with legislative and field activities. Marc was recently elected to represent District 16 in the Maryland House of
Delegates, an area that includes Bethesda, Friendship Heights, North Bethesda, White Flint, and part of
Potomac.
Responsibilities may include researching policy; crafting legislative strategy; attending district events; meeting
with constituents and stakeholders; and assisting constituents with case work. Students interested in public
policy, the legislative process, constituent services, or the political process should apply. Interns must be able
to devote 8-10 volunteer hours per week. Flexible scheduling is available. Interns will work in the Bethesda
and/or Annapolis area.

MARYLAND STATE POLICE COMMERCIAL VEHICLE ENFORCEMENT DIVISION
The Maryland State Police has a unique, unclassified position available to young men and women called State
Police Cadet. Applicants must be 18 years of age and a high school graduate (or equivalent) to be
considered for employment. The main purpose of this position is to expose young men and women to the
various duties and responsibilities of Maryland State Troopers and to better prepare them to become Troopers
when they reach the age of 21.
Cadets are assigned to perform duties that do not require police authority and are generally assigned to the
Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division.
Applicants for the Cadet Position must meet the following qualifications:
 Must be between the ages of 17 and 19 and be a US Citizen with a valid driver’s license
 Must obtain a high school diploma or GED before hire date
 Must have excellent moral character
 Must have a clean drug and criminal history
The application process for the Maryland State Police takes an average of four to five months of testing and
background investigation. Any student interested in the process should apply before graduation and before
