Nancy (Nan) Upchurch Stentz, 66, of Greensboro died Tuesday, March 10, 2015 after a short battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, George Stuart Stentz, Jr; two sons, Dave (Karen) Eberenz of Greenville, Greg (Melissa) Stentz of Greensboro; eight grandchildren Chrissy, John, Ryann, Hannah, Rachel, Grace, Tate, Leah; one sister Judy (Tony Lowe) Upchurch of Fancy Gap, Va; one brother Jim (Gini Spencer) Upchurch of Orlando, Fl; two nephews, one niece. Nan had a passion for teaching and children. She taught for years at Mclver (then Gateway School) for special needs children. Nan received a Master of Arts degree in 1988. Later she volunteered with ESL children. A celebration of Nancy's life will be held 6 pm Friday, March 20 at New Garden Friends Meeting. Family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to AFSC or the American Cancer Society. C.
