~ Pastor’s Message ~ Pope Francis’ top 75 inspiring quotes for Lent
(last in a six part series)
67. “We know well that with Jesus life becomes richer and that
with him it is easier to find meaning in everything. This is why
we evangelize.”
68. “God’s love is unbounded: it has no limits!”
69. “If we wish to follow Christ closely, we cannot choose an
easy, quiet life. It will be a demanding life, but full of joy.”
70. “Only the person who feels happiness in seeking the good of
others, in desiring their happiness, can be a missionary”
71. “If I can help at least one person to have a better life, that
already justifies the offering of my life”
72. “The Gospel responds to our deepest needs, since we were created for what the Gospel offers us: friendship with Jesus”
73. “Jesus is more than a friend. He is a teacher of truth
and life who shows us the way that leads to happiness.”
74. “A person who is not convinced, enthusiastic, certain and in love, will convince nobody.”
75. “A Christian is never bored or sad. Rather, the one
who loves Christ is full of joy and radiates joy.”

“I will be their God and they shall be my people.”
– Jeremiah 31:33
What does it mean to be God’s people? It means
we recognize that everything we have and everything we are belongs to God. We aren’t “owners”
of anything, we are merely “stewards” of the gifts
God has given us. It means we are willing to use
our gifts and our lives to care for our neighbors
and the world, just as God cares for us.

Mt Calvary & Gethsemani
All are welcome to a Holy Hour to pray for the repose of the souls of the faithfully departed who are
buried in the Catholic cemeteries. This one-hour
prayer service includes Exposition and Adoration of
the Most Blessed Sacrament, as well as the Holy
Rosary, Chaplet of Divine Mercy and other prayers
for the dead.

Brother/Sister Fixit
Everyone needs a helping hand from time to time.
Some things we just don't know how to do and sometimes we are physically unable to do even the simplest
things! Brother and Sister fix it can help! We are not
here to remodel your house or install a new engine in
your car..... but we are helpful when it comes to those
small task we often take for granted. Here are some of
the things Brother and Sister fix it has done for those in
distress. Repaired leaky faucets and toilets, fix fences
and gates, diagnosed a printer computer problem, Installed wall anchors to hang a loose towel rack, attached a chimney cover back into place, secured deck
boards. We have been busy! Some things we could also
help with, install new wiper blades, replace head lights
or bulbs or other similar tasks. If we can't help you we
may be able to direct you in the right direction. You
buy the materials and we provide the know how and
labor.
We don't ask for any money and wont accept it. All
gratitude should be given back to God in the collection
plate.
The needs of the people are greater now more than
ever, if you have special skills or just want to donate
some of your valuable time as a "Brother or Sister fix
it" please contact Terri Heitzman in the Parish office
with your contact information.
God Bless!
Justice and Peace
"..our (the Church) perspective toward serving the poor
is rooted in the Gospel injunction" that you have received without paying, give without pay" (Matthew
10:8). St. Gregory the Great said "When we attend to
the needs of those in want, we give them what is theirs,
not ours. More than performing works of mercy, we are
paying a debt of justice."
2015 Year of Consecrated Life
In every age consecrated men and women must
continue to be images of Christ the Lord, fostering
through prayer a profound communion of mind
with Him.

CRS Rice Bowl
CRS Rice Bowl brings our Lenten
journey back to Africa this week to
the Democratic Republic of Congo.
We join our fasting in solidarity with
people who go hungry, and we remember in prayer the
importance of building community that is willing to
support those most in need.
A receptacle is now in the back of the church to receive
your Rice Bowls.
Please enjoy these wonderful works of art
prepared for you by some of our artists in the
pews. More pieces can be found on the bulletin
boards in the vestibule of the church.

BIG SCREEN TV – We now have a big screen TV in Room 6 of the Parish Center.
The total package of the TV, TV mount and sound bar was purchased with Reward dollars. The business Visa card that the parish staff uses to purchase supplies, books and
other liturgical items gives us reward dollars. Staff had accumulated $900.00 which
was used for this purchase. Our total out of pocket cost was $17.97 cents. This is one
example of the parish being good stewards of our finances. This TV will be enjoyed by
many groups.
