The theme for this year is “Transplantation: Celebrating a Journey of 40 Years.” 2015 marks the 40th anniversary of the first renal transplantation which was carried out by a team of pioneers on 15 December 1975. In recognition of the invaluable contribution of our fellow Intensivists and Anaesthesiologists in organ procurement and transplantation, a special joint symposium will be held with the Malaysia Society of Intensive Care and the Malaysian Society of Anaesthesiologists. I hope that you will find the scientific programme interesting and beneficial. This meeting will also provide opportunities for networking and for exchange of ideas.
